  • Since there is NO racing tonight, due to Mother Nature, WHAT are you doing instead

I had hoped to go to Ocala Speedway tonight to see the All Star Circuit of Champions but Mother Nature decided different for me. So here it is, Saturday night, no racing and by what I can tell, not a lot on tv either. SO the BIG QUESTION is what do you do on a Saturday night instead?????

Well, it is not raining on Merritt Island so I think just maybe I will try shrimping off the old bridge in Cocoa Beach for awhile. My dad said he has eaten all his shrimp I got for him last year and I need to restock his freezer for him so if it doesn't rain, just might have to get out the old trusty shrimp net. Otherwise, clean some closets!!!!!!!!! Shrimping sounds a lot better to me than cleaning closets.

SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING TONIGHT SINCE NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY AND THE PASS RACE IS OUT, OCALA SPEEDWAY AND THE ALL STARS ARE OUT, AND CHARLOTTE COUNTY IS OUT. So, what are your big plans tonight?? Maybe a night out with the wife/husband and dinner and a movie???

    Let's hear it KARNAC world.

    Well Jane,

As i posted on BJ's thread, i am home and bummed that i did not get to go to Ocala tonight. I knew i should have taken Friday off instead. I understand Ocala's issues and back their decision. Good that they called it early.
What am i doing tonight, well the funny turn of events. My daughter (2yrs) had a bad stomach virus 2 days ago. She seems better now. My son (11 yrs) just started vomiting his brains out today. He's laid up for the night. Then to top it all off, mom decides to join the yakking party. So basically i have 2 hugging the porcelin god, one watching Disney movies and care taker me cleaning house. Oh, a wonderful vacation day it be
Things could be worse i am sure but i will just put a smile on it and catch up on some over due organizational issues needed at home and work on prepping my stuff for the Modified Reunion in 2 weeks ( it's getting closer,, i can't wait)

    Be good all!!

    Dennis

I relax by working in the garage, so after this very difficult week I've fixed the kids motorcycle, worked on mine, installed my new/used tire mounting machine in the shop, took the family to eat (Indian!) and went to see my dad who is just out of the hospital. Pretty relaxing overall.

I can't wait to go to the races tomorrow!

I have to be honest. Cindy and I went out to eat tonight and had the first real meal we've eaten since Tuesday. Not that speedway food is bad because it's very good, but you can't live off that stuff and still be healthy. Other than that, we're resting and trying to recoup the energy that we've burned off in three consecutive long days at the track.

And BTW...At 6PM we still had sporatic showers in the Ocala area, and what we got earlier in the day may not have been torrential, but it was a lot. Good call by the track and All Star officials to go ahead and rain things out before noon so that people could make other plans.

If it was any good then I need the details - the only thing I really miss from the UK is good Indian food. No cheese or cinnamon in that form of cooking...

We ended up going for a walk around a drizzly Mount Dora, checking out all the funky little shops and treating myself to an Devonshire Cream Tea in the English tea shop they have there. Then we had a nice, scenic drive back home taking in some roads we've never been down before. Still looking forward to the afternoon races tomorrow!

Well I am dumping the video from last night in the computer and printing pictures from today. We are going to race tonights races tomorrow afternoon. I have the CCMP Banquet next Saturday and I have ton of work to get done before then. We had a pretty bad wreck in turn4 last night and there were a few of those cars not there today. Maybe they'll have time now to get them repaired. Bob..

Well, I had to go to Ocala and pick up my equipment and bring it home. Messed up my back trying to move the trailer so I could hook it up. Now I'm editing last nights pictures so I can get them on the web. I'm really beat so may actually go to bed before 3 AM today. Maybe get a days rest and get everything online and hit Eastbay this week. I did manage to eat today also. I finally realized that I didn't eat at all yesterday. Just lots of Coke and a few chips.

I've got you all beat... I took the wife out for dinner since this is the last weekend in a long time that I could do that.... Then I sat at home going through past races and deleting any photos I do not need (my computer loves that) and for my entertainment..... I opened the window to my office so I could hear the Monster Trucks running at the Citrus Bowl since the wind was from the south. This would be the same show that I just sold my tickets to for half price since I would be at the PASS race tonight.... Let's just say the wife stayed in the living room watching all of her stuff she had saved on the DVR.

I'll be in a better mood when I get to the track in the morning.

I had planned on going to the PASS race Saturday, but before then worked with Eddie Roche at the ISC Archives doing a pair of tours for the folks from Rolex and the International Race Media covering the Rolex 24... In between tours, the legendary Ray Fox, two of his daughters and Joe Epton's (former NASCAR official) daughter stopped by to chat... Even though I never saw any racing, still had fun hearing plenty of good stories.

Andy, next time you are in Mt. Dora....

....go by Jeremiah's Resterant and say hi to the owner. That is "Insane Wayne" Parker, who use to race in OWM and Super Lates. Wayne is alot on fun and is into mid-year Corvette's now. Who knows you might run to Frass or myself there.
