  • Lasoski wins Ocala

He drove the 6 car ,Tim Schafer was 2nd, Dale Blaney 3rd in the 2 . This finish resulted from a 1 lap dash due to a violent crash between the 1 st and 2nd place cars on lap 24.

The violent crash on the last lap, was between race-long leader Cale Conley, and Brad Sweet. There seems to be a difference of opinon of whay happened (me and Rich Pratt have an official 1 beer bet... pending further review by video)

C'mon Winger.... cheat up some video so I can win myself a beer!

Great to get to see Jerry and Rich discuss the incident. The most hilarious thing i have seen in a long time while BJ tried to play moderator. Sadly the track did not look all that good but that happens sometimes. Not a bad night all in all got to see some people i havent seen in a long time. Met a few people i been meaning to meet. Dad had a blast also, i think thats why he goes with me to meet all the people i tell him about with their unlimited racing knowledge.

Yep, I was standing there and heard the bet. Sorry Jerry, But the way I saw it, YOU OWE Rich a beer.

As for the races, I thought the race was allright. I personally thought that the Mini-Sprints put on a better show, With the exception of that #14 car.. I haven't sat in the grandstands much but I thought that it was the worse I have ever seen with the sand. All in all I thought it was a good show, if for no other reason than it was my daughters 9th birthday and she wanted to go to the races with her dad [**pumping out chest**]. She had a blast!! She got wished a happy birthday over the P.A. system from Joe [ THANKS LISA], also from alot of people that know her as well as from other people that she doesn't and she also got to draw for position for T-MAC.

I didn't see what caused that incident. It was neat to see the discussion going on between you and Rich and a bunch of other Karnac regulars. Sheila, from Sheila's video should have a shot of that accident. You better get in touch with her before Rich does.

I too liked the mini sprint show better, but the Conley/Sweet wreck was something else.

We certainly had a long night with the #14. We really missed the setup at the start and the driver (HaudFan) just wasn't comfortable. By the end of the night, after calling in a few favors, we had the car pointed in the right direction and he was getting through 1 & 2 great, but the clutch "done blowed up" as David Hobbs would say. All the thanks in the world to Ricky Burnett for helping us out last night. Ricky also called that the #8's tire was going to blow as we pulled off the track. Nice win for the out-of-state invader in the #77.

I even had Dave Steele bless the car to see if that would help the clutch hold together for the whole night, but sadly that miracle was not enough.

The more FMSA races I go to, the more I really enjoy them. They put on really good shows and they are really nice people.

I was also there for the discussion between Rich and Jerry, however,I did not see the wreck either.Working the gate means you only hear the race.. Can't wait to hear who will buying the beer though.

Rain out today is a real bummer too..... Just glad it did not happen yesterday.

BTW, we had a sellout crowd in the stands. Able to seat 4000, 4000 sold.
Quite a few traded their tickets up to pit passes just to get a seat. Now that's a great night for the track. I'd say the crowd in the pits was around 600 to 700.
RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

I was trying to be polite, lol. I guess you could concider bringing over the video girl and passing out her cards to both of them instigating. Either way it made to a great ending for the night. Something as of late i have been doing alot of.

BTW, I asked Sheila, on Facebook, if she got the wreck. She replied that she got it all. I didn't ask for her analysis. Figured you guys could work that out.
BTW Jack, I enjoyed the mini sprints also. I've always been impressed by them. I know that others aren't but I really haven't seen them put on a bad show. It was real obvious that Brian had his hands full with the 14 last night. He even managed to scare me once. I actually thought he may have had a broken shock or something.
