Thanks for the Correction bobby61. When Rick and I were going through these photos, we figured that we would get some of them wrong. This was many years and a few concussions ago.

The 13 is either Wayne Heckle or Billy Collins.

In was gonna say Heckle in the 13. The car is sponsored by Jim Rathmann Chevrolet out of Melbourne.

Wayne and Jody built the car and then him and Jody had a falling out. Put Billy Collins in it and he destroyed the car I believe the 2nd nite he drove it.

Billy hit the frount side pit gate at NSS.

The car went up and turned over and hit hard on its top. The car slid all the way around turns one and two, it stoped just sort of the back strech pit gate on the inside of the track. the top was ground through and the front top roll-bar was ground flat. Later that same night Billy was sitting on top on the #13 in the pit , when George Rohn can flying into the pits next to Billy. George got out of his car and looked at the back of his car. Billy asked him what he was doing. George said the car wouldn't go, and it didn't feel right,so George jumps up and down on the right rear bumper and gets back in the car. He goes back on track and,I swear to god, Passes everyone on the track. Billy lookes at me and says "that my boy". A hell of a night at the track!
