  • What a night!

I couldn't be happier with the way our little night at the kart track went down. It did what it was supposed to do: get friends together for a stress-free chance to blow off steam. This really worked because we got a bunch of folks together!

If anyone was unhappy or disappointed they certainly kept it to themselves. Racers, officials, fans, veterans, rookies, has-beens, champions, it didn't matter. Everyone I saw had a smile on their face.

My son and I got home at nearly 3, which was after 9 hours of non-stop action.

Safety is always first in the mind of Ron McCreary, so he brought his new Hello Kitty helmet. Sadly, it didn't have the proper Snell fire-proof rating and he was DQ'd, of course.

Like any good racer, Ron had a back-up plan. He strapped on his own Bud Light "movitational helmet". Technology of this sort has been proven effective on animals of limited intelligence, like pack mules and race drivers.

The bottom picture features the new poster boy of the Little 500 track. Edm shows off his golden winners ticket!

Thanks to all for coming out, now on with the racing season!

Just the tip of the iceberg on the photo deaL. I am about halfway done with them and will post them all as soon as I can. Thanks to everyone for making my night the most fun I have had in a while. It was great to meet you all.

Know why Andy's leadin' that group in that last shot? Cuz they're all runnin' his direction...clockwise (the wrong way for us...), instead of our "normal" counter-clockwise...LMAO...I know *I* had a hard time adjusting to the right-turn thing....LOL

Looks to me like he's "dirt tracking it". cars going right, tail is hung out and he's steering to the left. You better get to Ocala this week Andy.

The "oh sh@#" look on his face says it all as he cuts it a little too close to the inside wall and causes a big wreck.

Shortly after this pic was taken Ron changed his name to Ron McQueery.

A perfectly controlled powerslide into the corner, I think you'll agree. Especially that guy who's 4 cars back and only just coming out of turn 2.

Andy is having a lot of stress in his 'power slide' there, as evidenced with his white knuckels on that poor steering wheel. Unlike the calm grips in the other two photos. Also notice everyone dirt trackin' into turn 3. That track was real slick and fast.
One of my grandsons has a birthday next month.......guess where we're goin'?? Are they open on Sunday? Times? Anyone know?

All three tracks are open 1pm to 10pm on Sundays according to their website.

Of course, if you want to try your luck against my dirt-trackin' style when you come down, just let me know...

Glad to help - remember they have age limits on the tracks too, depending on how old your grandson is. Thankfully for the Karnac crowd they're minimum age limits and not maximum age limits...

But from experience the tracks are well designed to be fun for kids of all ages. I know Rex's sons had an absolute blast on the track for the youngest kids, especially when they got to put their old man into the wall!

I would like to throw in a few pics.

                      1. Boneman and myself.
                      2. Two time TBARA champ Troy DeCaire.
                      3. Announcer Dave mediating a scrum between us.
                      4. Myself and TBARA president Dave Shotsberger having a disagreement about a piece of real estate.
                      5. Myself and Jeanette Burnett about to have a colossal wreck that ended up with her getting up on the wall.

I believe Mr. RacinPhotos68 has a great photo of #5.
