    In 2007 it's Single-Day Theme Park Ticket**

Available at Resort Main Entrance ticket booths **.
    $56.00 Ages 3-9
    $66.00 Ages 10+

Dave, whats the difference in tickets from the local short tracks in 1968 to today??

Back then the going price was $2 to $3 for adults... Kids under 12 were free just about everywhere... In 1965, Orlando Raceway raised their grandstand admission from $1.50 to 2 bucks and my dad about had a fit because they jacked up the price of the Old Milwaukee by 25 cents too!!
The first year we went into the infield at Daytona (Firecracker 400 - 1967) It cost $15 for my folks, me and my little brother to get in plus 2 bucks for the car... a total of $17... same thing you pay for a hamburger and fries there now...

      1966 "twin 100's"

I took my '55 Chevy to the twin qualifiers. Went into the infield for free and watchedthe start of the first race in turns 1 & 2 . About half way I drove down to the 3 & 4 turns to watch the end of the race. After the first race got over I drove down behind the pits and watched them bring the wrecks in, and looked at the second race lined up on the road course. When they started to roll the second race out on the track I jumped in the ole '55 and went through the tunnel and around to the grand stands in time to watch the second race start to finish, try that this year. HA! The grand stands were free too.

A caveat about the disney tickets, yeah it was cheap to get in the park BUT you had to buy a ticket book, remember the A, B, C, D and E ticket rides? Only the D and E were fun at all

How many people go to Disneyland every weekend? Comparing apples to oranges.

            1959

I went to speedweek in 1959 took $50 stayed in a motel, I think in Sanford. Stayed all week and came home with no money. I Rode into Sarasota on fumes. Didn't have enough money to get any more gas. Made it home barely.
That was probably the most fun I had in a week since. I don't remember what it cost to get in the races, but I watched races all week and went to the speed museum, all on 50 bucks. I couldn't drive over there for 50 bucks now. Life sure was simpler in the day. Bob.........

PS: I forgot to mention I shared the motel with 3 other guys. We shared the cost. It wasn't much....

If it was up to $2 then and it is at least $10 now, that is a 5 times jump. Food has probably jumped the same..unfortunately the purses are about the same as they were back then......

Remember my dad saying that at Eau Gallie speedway they would give 2 free passes to the driver for the following weekend. Wouldn't that be nice if they did it today.
