Lookie there...$1,000 to win a *weekly* SLM feature...LOL...back when St. Pete, Bradenton, Inverness, and them all drew FULL fields of cars. I wanna say that around '89 was about the time the fields, fans, payoffs, and a lot of other stuff started to drop off. It didn't help that the tracks had started to go to different rules for the same divisions. Back then, you could run a car - in just about any division - at just about any track. We ran all three joints at some point in the same years, just changing the setup on the car in the mornings before heading to the track. Didn't have to have three different cars for three different tracks. You could load up and head to the next track. I know on more than one occasion, we got rained out at one track, loaded up, and headed up or down I-75 without having to change anything major.
