  • Congrats to Dustin Dunn for his win at CCMP!

I wanted to give a huge congratulations to Dustin Dunn for winning the 100-lap late model race last night at CCMP.

Dustin always runs decent at CCMP, but last night he took it to another level. In the second half of the feature, Dustin was able to open a gap on the field after every restart.

Brian Blum also had a good run going until the track sent him to the tail for initiating a caution. Impressively, he was able to come all the way back to finish fourth.

Dustin and his dad have done a lot for the racing community this year, with several bike giveaways for the kids, and several other promotional events. It was great to see them get a win at CCMP!

    Racefan99,

Thank you very much. I would bet that over half of the teams came to us to tell us how much we really deserved this win. Like you said, we always run decent at CCMP so I had to find a new set up to take it to the next level and get us a win. We came Saturday morning with our conventional set up on the car and went out and ran 10 laps with old tires and ran our normal 15.4 and 15.5. Than we put the new set up on the car and went back out on the same tires and ran 14.9 in the first 3 laps. We knew that all of our hard work over the past weeks paid off. Dustin drove a smart race. He really had to work Richie Anderson (a great guy) hard to take the lead. But once he got his nose out in clean air there wasn't a car on the track that could touch him. He was running 15.0 to 15.1 after the last restart with 6 to go. The car was awesome!!!

I have to thank all of the drivers, team members, fan, and track staff that gave money to help Cole McFaddin's family. Dustin was very close to Cole. Cole has been fighting ALS since last Christmas. We had to go by Cole's side last Wednesday to say goodbye because the family was having to pull the plug on Thursday. It has been very hard on Dustin because Cole has been like a second father to Dustin since Dustin was 5. We are very proud how the racing community came together to support Dustin's cause. They filled Dustin's helmet up with $364. WOW Dustin put in another $126 to make it an even $500. It will go a long way for the family. Coles services were yesterday and we had a celebration of life around a bond fire last night. Just the way Cole would have wanted it. So again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

I do have to say that I missed some of the regulars that I always get to see at CCMP like Carol, Bob, Robert, and we were hoping to see Joe D and little Joey. Joe helped support us at the last race but we really didn't have a good showing. We wanted to make up for that. Maybe next time.

We don't know if we are going to make it to the CCMP 150 because the ASA banquet is on that Saturday and we will be in Indianapolis. We could make it in Sunday but they are doing qualifying on Saturday this year. Maybe CCMP could give a provisional or allow us to qualify on Sunday. Hopefully we can find a resolution. We wouldn't want the last winner of '09 to not be in the first race of 2010.

Thanks for all of your support
    Andrew

Thanks DeMan, we wish you could have been there also. I am glad that the event up there went well and we hope that it really helps the Brann family. We really love Citrus.

Brian had a really good car. Dustin and Brian ran door to door for the first 5 laps with Dustin on the outside until a hole opened up behind Brian. I had Dustin drop in behind Brian and Richie Anderson and they 1,2,3 until about lap 45 when Dustin was pressuring Brian pretty hard. I had just settled him down a little when Brian got a nose under Anderson in 3 and they made contact with Brian getting sent to the rear. When we checked up for that Gill had no where to go and got into the rear of us taking out himself and Johnson. About 10 laps later Dustin got under Anderson off of 4 and lead the rest of the way.

We just got the car unloaded and started checking it out. I didn't realize that Gill rear clipped our car. The fuel cell got pushed into the rearend and was wedged in the bent clip and being held in by one bolt.

Wow sounds like you were very lucky to finish let alone win. I am surprised to hear that Richie Anderson was up front, every time I have been at CCMP he was off the pace quite a bit. Good to see that they finally got it turned around. Congrats again Andrew.

No I wouldn't hold my breath either. I think I have the tape down from storage. Now I just got to look at them. Keep bugging me my memory is a thing of the past. I ran into a guy today that ask for some 1992 and 93 videos. His son raced then and was killed in 1994. I am planning on going to Arcadia tomorrow and get the video from Robert to edit. I have 2 weeks off now, no racing call me and remind me of the icebreaker. Once I get Citrus and ccmp edited I'll be done except for the hi-lite for CCMP and I have till Feb to get that done. My phone is 941-737-5857 Bob...

                        Thanks Robert,

That is a nice picture!! Who was taking the pictures? I would like to get a copy. Was anybody taking videos? I'm sure Gram would want one of those. She wasn't able to make it to the race. Looks like that was a pretty good race at Citrus also. Hope you guys had a good time up there.

                        Have a good holiday
