Subject: My son
Hi Chaplain.
I need your help. My son Rodney had an accident Sat night with the 4 wheeler, and has really messed himself up. Broken collar bone, some pretty severe broken bones in his leg. This is going to require some intensive surgery. He had surgery yesterday just to put some pins and rods in place to straighten the leg and keep it immobilized, until they are able to do surgery to repair. They have to wait for the swelling to go down before they can start the repairs needed.
He is not the best patient in the world, and he could use some counseling and a friendly voice. He is currently in Brandon Regional, but they are going to transfer him today or tomorrow to the trauma unit at Tampa General. I am hoping you could give him a call and try to cheer him up, and maybe once he gets settled in Tampa General, stop in to see him. He may not know who you are, since he rarely gets to come to the track. It actually happened at the track Sat night. It was Steve's last race ever, and I missed it! Oh Well. Let him know who you are, and I am sure he will be pleased to hear from you.
Say a few prayers for all of us, as I am trying to keep it together myself.

Thank you so much Bill. I have him on many prayer lists already, so I'm hoping you can add him to some more. He needs patience to deal with this, and the anger removed from his heart. He gets so frustrated and it is not always pretty. I am asking God for guidance to help me get him through this. He is a good kid with some very bad luck. He has a finance and she has a 10 yr old. I need prayers for them to. We need to keep them fed and roof over their heads until we can figure out if Rodney can get disability or something. I will make sure they get what they need.
