  • Sportsman and Truck Chassis

Are the Sportsman and Truck Chassis alike, but with different rollcages? They appear to be based on the same car (Chevelle). Is the drivers seat in the same place on both chassis, or is the drivers seat more toward the front in the truck chassis?

    Thanks

It depends which sportsman you are talking about. With Fascar sportsman all bets are off but they are pretty close to some of the other sportsman around the state.

The seats are wherever the builder puts them, it may be more forward on trucks to fit the body templates though. Most of the trucks that I have seen are using metric "G" body Monte's, Cutless, and Grand Prix's. Most sportsman are using Camaro, and Chevelle chassis but there are some using small metrics too.

If you want a good, up-close look at a Sportsman chassis then come down one week when Ed is driving his car - by the end of the race you can usually see the chassis, roll-cage and most of the interior even if you're sitting in the stands...

WOW Andy...that's pretty harsh (I wouldn't have been THAT hard on EDM).

However, one does get to see both the outside and the inside of most parts on his car when he races. It is said if anyone is thinking about racing, just follow EDM around the track with a trailer and collect all the parts you need. By the end of a race season, EDM can re-construct his car without looking.
Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:

Just give me the duct tape back because that stuff is getting expensive.

Maybe get those stickers you had on the front wing, but next year put them across all the bodywork seams?

The great thing is that despite all that damage he got this year, I just know Ed is going to start next season with a great looking car again!

That is pretty funny. True but still funny.
