Here is Emil reutimanns 3 window coupe as I first saw it in I think 1953. Such detail. Model car Man built it for me and did a fabulous job. Thank you Ricky. I will treasure this coupe. It'll take its place in my studio among my treasures. Bob.

Very nice work !!! Loved those cars. Dale and I pulled one from the junk yard when we were kids and put an old motor in it and ran it behind Emils house in the woods. I later did the lettering on the one that was restored and I think Davids father in law has. The pictures are my office wall and the body from Emil's last one around a tree in my yard. Great memories. Ted

Yes I remember your Dad. I was a snotty nose kid back then and in awe of everybody. I never put 2 and 2 together. Now that you mention Mickey, I remember you and him. I haven't seen you guys for a while. The TBARA doesn't come to CCMP any more. Most are the same cars but the Checkered Flag Sprints are at CCMP. I guess Don Rehm started them when he split from TBARA. I seem to like them better with out wings. They seem to have to drive them more. Those guys really work at racing and put on a good show. Is your Dad still around? I tried a couple of years ago to get a re-union together for Sara-Mana, but found very little interest. Nancy Rowe was the only one really interested. Do you remember Her and her dad? Bob...

My Dads name was Robert McClure and everyone called him Mac. He, Pee Wee Phelps and L.M. Zieglar raced back then with car numbers 21 and 22 with Trail Drive In, as sponsors. Brownie use to tell me stories about other people that raced up north and would come down and race those cars some when they were here in the winter months. Trying to remember their names, but I can't! Did have pics, but in all the confusion I have misplaced them and hopefully will find them soon. Unfortunately, their are not many people left from the Sara Mana Days!! I remember the track having a special day after my Dad was killed like we did for Richard and one of the cars was raffled. They say history repeats itself...amen!! Oh! Mind swung in action and I think one of them was Poncho Alverez...I have a 1952 Program..will find that and get you a copy.

Now theres a name I haven't thought of in a while. Whats the guys name that ran the concessions? He owned a car around then I think. He's still around I guess. I met him for lunch about 3 years ago when we were trying to put thae SAra-Mana reonion together. Bob...

Sara Mana-Coupes-Good Ole Days
Bob,
The year was 1952! He worked for a electrical company in downtown Sarasota. Right next to a popular food spot..do you remember its name (on main street)? Who lived in the house next to the entrance to the drive in? Remember going to see puppy's there. Remember a door in the fence we use to go in and out of. The fellow I remember you meeting was a CPA (retired) living in Palmetto. This is where I miss Richard, as he never forgot a name..he never forgot anything. I am surviving...it is like being in a shadowy trance..just a blur!! It will come to me..remember he had a office in the old Sharp Drug Store building..this is part of me remembering...it is on the tip of my tongue...darn!! Richards Grandfather was at my Dads funeral and no one could figure out how they would of known each other. We started dating in 1966 or 67...again that strange history thing. Discovered this is the late 70's. Well...it won't come to me right now, but it will and I will write back when it does. Can see his face any everything..it is trapped deep inside for the moment. Saw Jim fri. at Eastbay...it was soooo cold..he would know his name...finally.. Henson is last name..working on the first! Little crazy I know!! So what were the years that your Dad was involved with the drive in?
