Hehe, sounds like maybe they did take lessons from him. What was their punishment? Glad it wasn't too cold there. It actually warmed up a few degrees after I made my decision to skip the race. It's usually a good 10 degrees warmer at East Bay so I should have gone. Oh well, can't undo it.

A lot of information about the weather, but did anyone stay long enough to see who won ?

I stayed until the Outlaw Fours race. Latemodels had six 20 lap heat races to set the first 18 spots for tonight's race. Tonight the B-mains will set the rest of field. First 6 starting spots for tonight are heat winners from last night; here's the heat winners pictures.

Go through the pictures till you see the first late model with checker flag (17ss), he starts first etc..... I don't know their names other then Jeff Matthews. The 17ss is from Florida and he was also fast timer last night.

Tim McCreadie (Driving Budda's latemodel) and Steve Francis (Driving Jack Nosbisch latemodel) both finished second in their heat races, so they made the show.

winger, the "punishment" was that their time was disallowed and they had to start at the rear of the heat race. one of those soakers was reportedly some kid named, uh, varnadore or something...

At least they weren't suspended for 6 months. Too bad they caught anyone. Otherwise, I'm saying it's too bad anyone felt it's necessary to cheat. Pushing the envelop is one thing but outright cheating another.
BTW, the 17SS is Shan Smith and he won the Turkey Trot at North Florida a few weeks ago. I think his season has been disappointing but it looks like it's turning around. He's finally got a new wrap on the car, if that's the old Mathew's car.
Really neat to see Mike Horne got his pictures up so quick. I know how tough that can be sometimes. Good guy and great photographer. I encourage people to buy his photos.

One of the heat winners I see is Stacy Roberts, from Sylvester GA in the 11 car.

The Cochrane #1 sure looks like it would be Lynn Geisler from PA, but I didn't think he'd be in a Crate car. The Cochrane Pontiac sponsorship has been with Geisler since about the late '70's.

Ronnie Johnson in the 5, Shan Smith in the 17ss, and Jeff Matthews is one of the 33 cars, but I don't know who is in the other 33. They could almost pass for team cars.

Looks like there is some serious quality for this event.
