  • Sportsmans 75 - December 12th

We are 5 days away from the big event.... here are some things you need to know.

Due to some unforeseen events this weeks Saturday morning practice has been rescheduled to Friday. $10 per person as usual and if I have enough interested people we will turn the lights on for "race condition" practice. Please contact me if you are interested in a Friday night practice session. Sheri @ (941)809-3498 - PLEASE CALL ME TO RESERVE YOUR SLABS!!!!

If you need lodging the track works with Country Inn & Suites make sure you tell them you are racing at Charlotte County Motorsports Park in order to get the racer discount (941) 235-1035.

We will be qualifying and racing on the same tires. Before taking the track on Saturday for practice you will be required to go through tech for inspection. Please be sure to have your qualifying/race tires bolted on for this inspection. As we have discussed any used 8" treaded tire is allowed.... the only sticker tires allowed are tires purchased from CCMP. Please contact Gary @ (813) 313-8741 or Bobby @ (813) 817-7223 if you are looking to purchase tires, this is the last race tires of this size are being ordered for and they will only be ordering what is requested.

For those of you who do not already know we are allowing a 1lb per lap allowance for fuel burn off. This rule is not in the rule book that is currently online.

For those of you who have not raced at CCMP this year you will be paying your $75 entry at the pit gate window. Driver packs will be available at this window and must be completed and returned before the driver will be allowed to go through inspection and practice.

I would like to thank everyone in advance, I have had a blast organizing this event and would like to express my extreme gratitude to ALL of the sponsors for their support.

To all the drivers and car owners: this race is proving to be a great opportunity to make money....there is the possibility that someone could walk away with $1,800 in winnings. I look forward to once again promoting next year and have firm commitments from sponsors for multiple races for the sportsman division in 2010. This race was developed as a driver appreciation race, I hope you enjoy it.

If anyone has any questions on Saturday please feel free to look for me on slab 67 with the #35 Sportsman of Gregory Krom. Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!!

Ok so practice is canceled for sat morning. What kind of practice will we have for Sat evening? Some of us have to work Friday and there is no way that we can make it Friday night. We are also repairing the car from some recent heavy damage. If we do not have sufficient practice to make sure the the car will be drivable then there is no point is making he 4 hour drive.

"if I have enough interested people we will turn the lights on for "race condition" practice."

Practice starts at 5:00. Unless Charlotte County has some kind of deal with Mother Nature, I would have to assume that the lights would be on, whether or not you "have enough people interested"..... !!!
