  • SpeedWorld Bandaleros...

On sunday at The Truckers 200 race, There was a Bandalero feature race... with 3 cars starting. Even worse is that only two finished (one car had a flat rear tire).

Now i realize that there was a Rain Out Saturday night and the schedule got all messed up but if it hadnt rained, would there have been more?

I didnt watch the race. I was tail gating out front with Frasson and Palmbayer but over the intercom (ya you can hear what dave is saying over those little motors) it was a boring race and if i heard correctly, two of the cars entered were FOR SALE!

Ya I really want to buy one of those to race against two other people... no thanks ill go run champ karts first.

On a good note.. The Champ-Kart race was fantastic!
Imagine a last lap at a Talladega cup race and thats what it was every lap.
By far the race of the day in my opinion.

P.S. There was a van full of people that showed up at like 6:30pm asking if they were still racing. Frasson told them that the races were run sarting at 2pm. The family mentioned that there was nothing on the website advertising the time change. So that might be something to look into.

Well Im happy you liked the champ race. I thought it went pretty well since i won it lol. But if you wanna get into some fun racing the champ karts are a good option. They are fast and as you seen they can put on some really good racing. I think Today and Last night were a couple of the best races we have put on in a while. That track is so big and fast we can do a lot of side by side racing. Think i was 3 wide a few times. Most fun iv had in a while. I know everyone likes the big cars. But the champs are always fun to watch. Happy you liked them. Orlando is a great track. Hope next year they give us more races.

It was on the website, on Orlando Speedworld.org, www.carsevents.com and
carsracermarketing.com, we did our best to let all we could know. The weather through us a curve. Now for the bandoleros. We proabably would have had more if run on Saturday, but can I tell you this Charity is about helpng kids facing terminal illnesses and families in need. I wanted some young people to be a part of the event. So while it may have been a bit boring, it was part of what we are trying to do. The Champ Karts were good and will be back as part of next years event. Thanks

That's an interesting one - of course, if they knew the race was now on the Sunday rather than Friday/Saturday then how did they also miss the time it was being run? I didn't see anywhere where they'd mentioned the date change without adding that it was now an afternoon race. One of the perils of the modern age though as not everyone reads the internet properly, and there's every chance this family may have thought it was a Saturday/Sunday evening event before the days were even changed, so may have shown up to an empty parking lot if the dates hadn't been moved...

Just for the record, there were 4 bandoleros starting the race, which Dave soon picked up on, and for once there was some actual overtaking in the race as the winner moved through from the back, while the guy with the tire down at least provided some exciting racing as he tried to hold on! With a bigger field of cars as I can see how this fits in with the whole purpose of the weekend's racing, but as Cake points out it didn't help matters having just 4 cars out there after the big truck race.

I didn't get to see the Bandolero race. But im sure they put on some good racing. But any class that only has a few car in it might be kinda boring on such a big track. But im sure if they had 10 or so it would be lot more exciting. But when weather messes up the weekend i guess you take what you can get.

There was actually a few 4-wide passes!

Great job guys, and Congrats on the win!

I remember it because I remember Dave being surprised by the extra car when it came out. And in this race it was that extra car that provided the only real 'action', as it was the one that came from the back to win. Maybe one way to make their races more exciting would be to give all of them one flat tire to cope with?
