  • Got a safety topic you would like answered?

    Greetings all.

I know a good many of you have read the "Scotty's Safety Scoop" articles on our website and we hope you've found them informative and beneficial to your needs, no matter the class you run.

I was talking with Scotty the other day and he said, "let's take some requests."

So I ask you, loyal Karnacians, is there any safety questions you ever wanted answered or were looking for some information on?

Feel free to post some topics here or over on the website listed below and we'll got Scotty Adema to write up an article and get you pointed in the right direction.

Let's be safe out there kids.

Why does FASCAR only require Strictly Stock drivers to wear a long sleeved shirt? Don't they realize that a shirt like that is just a wick for fuel and allows it to burn longer?

Ok, kidding aside, here is a real question. It would be really useful to compare and contrast the various types of head restraints available: HANS, Hutchins or something else.

I used a Hutchins for a while, but couldn't believe it would be very effective. I have seen some sort of brace that fits under the shoulder belts and hooks to the back of a helmet. Now that looks promising, but I don't know much else about it.

Take one of each type with you next time you go to that IHOP, model them for her and I'm sure that waitress will be happy to tell you which one is hotter...

if it's not obvious, that should be "wear".

Messrs Hollinger and Poole gave me a very detailed account of the whole incident, so detailed it kind of felt like I really had been there. Just without the pancakes...

                    yes, and you know Rex.

therefore, you know better than to believe that this was an accurate representation of the evenings festivities.

So you mean he didn't pick up the bill for that bus load of nuns who were sat in there eating while he was outside mending their broken-down vehicle with nothing more than a straw, a fork, and a small container of butter-pecan syrup?

Anyway, as I said when the story was being told - that waitress had three options at that table, so I think it's all just bitterness...

Thanks to everyone that had a topic suggestion - they are all in the queue for Scotty Adema.

The first one he chose to tackle is, "why in this day of full containment seats do we still have to run roll cage nets?" which was e-mailed to me by a sprint car driver.

I thought this week's article is a fascinating read with some good research conducted by Scotty Adema.

And if you have any other topics you would like covered, feel free to keep posting them here. You guys have given him some good stuff for him to research and he's really enjoying it - he thanks you for pitching in.

                        Thanks again for participating!
