There will be a memorial service for Robbye McCoy at the Moose Lodge in Hialeah at 4 PM on Saturday Dec. 5. Location is 305 East 32nd St in Hialeah.
Robbye, 64, was a long time Hialeah competitor who loved racing. He was most well known for his purple No. 43 Fords back in the day but he also drove the gold and red No. 1 sportsman car for John Ellis. Younger race fans probably know Robbye as the dad of Travis McCoy who also raced at Hialeah for several years. Robbye got as much joy seeing Travis have success as he did from his own racing years prior.
A few years back Robbye relocated from Hialeah to Leesburg where he lived at the time of his passing. Surrounded by family, Robbye succomed to his year long battle with stomach cancer on Nov. 19.
