  • FASCAR rules suggestions for 2010

Is it possible to keep this thread on track?

Is it possible to produce anything constructive? Both of these are long shots, but hope springs eternal, so here goes.

1 In extra distance races, you can pit for several laps under yellow and not go a lap down. I can see the pros and cons about this, but could we get some feedback from the racers in those events to see if this approach should go forward?

2 Mini stock engine placement. Currently, no one knows where the engine is supposed to be located in a mini stock frame. We have a "2 inch tolerance", but from what? FASCAR needs to spell out clearly how far back the engine sits, and what the minimum height of the crank must be.

3 Mini stock bodies. We need a minimum door height, roof height and roof width. A few of those cars are small and shrinking every year.

4 Dump the brake light requirement.

Just from my own observations it seems like they really need to think of something to sort out pit-stops and minor work at Orlando for all the races, not just the longer races.

We saw on Friday night how easy it was during Ed's Sportsman race to pull into pitlane at NSS, have a bunch of guys jump the wall, and get him back on track and able to start the race, albeit at the back. If he'd had the same problems at Orlando he may not have been able to get across and back out again, and also faced the issues of having to go blindly in and out of the pit entrance and risk hitting an oncoming car. Just my brief visits to the pit side, even if just during practice, have let me witness how often two cars have to slam the brakes on exiting and entering that pit area.

Usually Osw will give you a couple of minutes, but its still tough. I dont remember the track but some will let the crew in a safe area in the infield.

Does it really matter? Why don't we hold a meeting and discuss this in person so we can all waste our time, but since we are on the topic,

        Strictly stocks- just that
Super stocks- how about you actually follow the rule book and tech them
Mini stocks- don't know enough about them
Trucks- yeah actually enforce existing rules
Sportsman- arghhh not enough time in the day, make them closer to the sportsmans throughout the rest of the state. 8" tires, they are cheaper, incorporate a crate motor rule
Modifieds, Stock spindles? Still? Motors cost too much.
        Late models, Body rules suck
Supers, don't know enough about them.
