Georgia Asphalt Series (GAS) Sold to Fountain Motorsports:
Terry Roberts, who runs the Georgia Asphalt Series, informed Speed51.com Sunday evening that the series has been sold to Fountain Motorsports. The deal, which started as a casual conversation in June of this year, became a business agreement Sunday morning prior to the running of the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park (GA). Roberts said the paperwork is being drawn up and they are all ready to move forward for 2010.
Roberts informed Speed51.com on Monday that he will continue to run the series under the new ownership, the series will run a 10 to 12 race tour in 2010 and it will retain the GAS name. Also, they are in talks to have legendary tech man Ricky Brooks run the series' tech.
