Looks like Jeff Chocquette was dq'd in tech.

    (Copied from Speed51.com postrace report)

6:34 They are being very thorough in tech, so we are still waiting for the word from the tech area.

7:10 Ok folks, here is the current update:

We headed down to tech as most everyone except a few teams have left. They are being very extensive with what they are checking. They had just pulled Max Gresham's engine and were just working on pulling Jeff Choquette's engine.

Since it could be a while, we are packing up and leaving the track.

However, we are not closing out our coverage.

While we were in the tech area, we saw third-place finisher Paul Kelley walking around with a camera. Kelley is going to be our tech reporter, and will call us when they clear tech or if there are any issues. We will either post an update at that time from the road or when we get back to our headquarters in North Carolina, sometime around the 11pm Eastern time frame. Check back for updates later tonight before we close out our coverage.

9:17 Welcome back to some breaking news on Speed 51's Trackside Now coverage of the World Crown 300. We have spoken to our tech reporter Paul Kelley as well as a few other people, and here is what we know so far.

A few hours after the end of the World Crown 300, Jeff Choquette, who crossed the finish line first, has been deemed illegal and thrown out in tech. We spoke to Choquette, who said they threw them out for an unapproved transmission in the car.

That would declare Max Gresham the winner, but he was also deemed illegal and thrown out in tech. According to what we have been told, he was thrown out for the heads not being legal. Gresham indicated to Speed51.com's Ally Fulson that tech felt that the heads were ground on.

As it stands unofficially now, Paul Kelley would win his fourth World Crown 300, if he passes tech. Second would then be Colt James, followed by Beau Slocumb.

We are still stopped and awaiting more news. Stay tuned.

9:38 We have heard rumors that Paul Kelley was also thrown out in tech, but we have spoken to Micky Cain, head of tech, just a few moments ago, and he said that Kelley's car hasn't been thrown out and they are still teching his car.

9:40 Folks, we are going to get back on the road and continue our journey back to the Speed 51 headquarters in Concord, North Carolina. As it stands right now, Jeff Choquette and Max Gresham have been thrown out in tech, giving the unofficial win to Paul Kelley with Colt James in second and Beau Slocumb third.

We are keeping Trackside Now open and will update late this evening once we get back to the Concord HQ, which should be between 11:30pm and midnight.
