They also said that it wasn't worth the money to come watch so few cars run in the races. So to those of you who are ruining the racing by cheating and then looking for favoritism to allow through tech you won't have to worry about passing tech when there are no more fans to watch you race.
Couldnt have said it better myself.

First off, it was downright dumb for the track to tell the drivers there would be a full field invert BEFORE qualifying... Why even bother with qualifying anyway? Billy took advantage of the situation, so why slam him? Even so, it turned out to be a pretty good race anyway... Just watching Scotty Edwards trying to hang in there with that pure stock Lincoln was a blast...

I can't fault Billy for his superior reading of the rules. The track left him a great, gaping hole in the rule and he drove right through it.

After all, he had nothing to lose. If Billy ran a legit lap, he starts at or near the back. If he got busted for sandbagging, then he starts at or near the back. Why not take advantage of a track mistake? It is in the blood of every racer.

Gotta respect David Gould too. He was a man about it: running his race and getting up to second for a while.

Maybe one day, the Super Stocks will settle their points the way the mini stocks did last week: no suspensions, no DQ's, and the two contenders raced for it on the final night.

Regardless of the politics and ethics involved, ultimately it didn't mean that much to the race itself. I checked back in my notes and saw that pretty much all of the fast cars that started at the back of the grid had got themselves right up to the front within the first 5 laps. With the #316 spinning out a bunch of times early on that just changed it from a 50 lapper with a fully inverted field to effectively a 45 lap race with a random drawing for position up at the front.

If nothing else the officials will have learned a big lesson from this whole affair and we can hope that we don't see the same decision to announce the invert before qualifying again. They certainly didn't make the same mistake the next night at NSS.

We have got to know David Gould over the years, But this year he has earned our respect, he is a class act and a hard racer for sure. and the same can be said about Justin Renolds too. We've raced hard this year and pretty clean.

Being as it was the last night of the season and the stands were down to the last few dedicated souls seeing the year out, part of me really wishes Billy had gone out and done this first and the other drivers had realized what was happening and followed suit.

Just imagine sitting in the stands watching all those cars trying to qualify as slow as possible to get to the front of that race!
