  • What Are you doing during the Off Season

Okay guys/gals - seasons are ending. What are your plans for 2010. Are you changing classes, are you just revamping that old car for next year, are you switching from dirt to asphalt or asphalt to dirt, WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR 2010. I really would like to hear from alot of people for a story I want to do on racers and 2010.

So come on now, let me hear from you and your plans for 2010!!!!!

My plans for 2010 are to continue writing at Volusia and get my new website off the ground and the best darm dirt site in Florida. I cover all 8 tracks, and yes, there are 8 dirt tracks in Florida. And one by one, you will meet and get to know all the officials, staff, general managers, etc from each dirt track and the drivers. Florida Dirt Track News (www.floridadirttracknews.com) has big plans for 2010 and I want everyone to get to know these guys/gals just like you do the asphalt drivers. From Northwest Florida Speedway to Eastbay Raceway Park, you will get plenty of news on dirt track racing.

Other than that, I plan on doing some shrimping and fishing and restock my freezer with shrimp like I did this year. And I want to find a part-time job so I know I will get paid and not hope that I will like this year. No more being ms. nice guy and losing my home. I intend to fight for it and keep it.

        Me?

More hunting, and it's a darn good thing that Columbia closed down early this year, so we could do more hunting. That track was getting the way of the hunting season, and I wish all local short tracks would close earlier so we can hunt more; and open up alot later. Dont even open them Raceway's at all.
Hunting should be allowed year 'round, so no Stock Car Raceway should be in the way of hunting, it just gets in the way! And fishing, don't get me started on that one.

I'm laying low and staying very, very close to home and be a burden to my wife and stick to her like white on rice, till it starts up again. About the end of Jan., I want her to say "Can't you find a race to go to". Then I can say "I believe, I can".

              Jan. 28th-30 Golden Isles
              Feb. 1st-6th East Bay
              Feb. 8th-13th Volusia

                The plan is .....

I will be spending time with my wife and girls, enjoying the blessings he gives me and celebrating the birth of my Savior !
The plan is to rest a bit, begin to plan for 2010 Charity Truckers event as well the 2nd Golf Tournament and Concert. I will be working on a huge sponsor deal that could step the Charity Truckers 200 weekend up to the next level. I will be working hard on that. Will work with Robert, Kim, Butch, Joe on the plans for 2010 at OSW if Robert wants me to stay. Also the race truck will be reskinned, and gone through, improvements made. If sponsorship can be obtained we my run for Track Championship at OSW in the truck division. That is the plan now I need my Lord to give me his approval to continue on, so I will be praying !!

I'll be building model cars of my childhood heros and playing Mr Mom. And hopefully going to all the Winternationals races at East Bay next year!!!

PS Alaska54, that's a good idea, I got to try that.

Hopefully things will improve not only financially but also healthwise for us so I can go back to racing next year if it is only once a month. I plan on going to Volusia at least once during Speedweeks since I haven't been there in over 17 years and it was paved then for a Busch race. Spent many a Sunday afternoons there when it was dirt with my Dad and really miss it. I also plan on going to NSS also during Speedweeks. I haven't been to NSS since the Speedweek of the year that Homer died. Just having a hard time bring myself to go but will try for 2010.
