How is this for cool: for the second year in a row, the mini stock point championship is tied again going into the final race. Last years championship round was the strangest I've ever seen in 36 years. The top two contenders settled it by crashing and racing their sick cars at 20 mph on the Bando track for the last few laps. Weird!

Super Stocks are close too, and they are running a 50 lapper which means "double points". David Gould and Billy Cuddy will decide it for 2009.

Just like 2008, Mark Emberson comes into the last night in the hunt for the modified championship. This year he will settle it with Chad Pierce.

I'm not shilling for the track, I just look at this as a fan and think we're gonna have an interesting night!

    The Legends are close too.

The Superstocks should be quite something on Friday night, with the points so close and the drivers having to do a 50 lapper to finish the season. I can't remember exactly, but didn't pretty much all of the faster cars that are up at the top of the points table wreck the last time they had to do that many laps? The good news is that I can't see any of the guys in for the championship being the kind of driver who'll just sit back and try to nurse their car around staying out of trouble. That should be a great race.

The Ministocks should be quite a race too, especially if they can get a few more cars in there for the last race of the season. That's been one of the most even fields of cars all year, and pretty much anyone running has shown the pace to win a race this year.

I thought you were joking when you commented on the Legends being close, but looked up the points and saw you're weren't! It seems like Alex Kempf has won every single race this year, but the #54 has finished second every time too, and with Kempf having a DQ and (I think) missing a race or two after his crash at Auburndale, there really is something to race for. What chance he loses that last race after being so dominant all year?

I've already started rounding up my workmates (i.e. using my status at work to coerce my staff) to come down on Friday night so hopefully there'll be a good crowd.
