A family or Children in Need.
We are looking for a family or children in need to sponsor some of there needs for the second annual Blast from the past.We would like to find families who are in need to help instead of giving to a foundation,where hardly any of the money goes to these causes.If you know some one call me or send me a private message.Tell me the reason you think they should be our family or child.Also would like to know if you think this is a good idea.Your vote counts so please get in touch we me or Jane .Thanks,Joyce

just advice

when i had my dive club we had something special going on for a charity every year. we picked a poor family in punta gorda but it was overwhelming for the family. they also knew they could never repeat it for their kids. we bought truck loads of toys, a tree fully decorated and money...we should have split it with a couple families. it was our first and we learned alot...we decided then to collect and send to Shriners burn center , Salvation Army, or one that i really love... The Covenant House which is awesome in that they REALLY help young people in trouble.
you can also find out which soldiers we have in Afghanistan never get mail and send $100 to several of them. you can find the list online. when i get some time today i will try to help. its been awhile since ive done that....thats another of my favorite things to do. i still have the most gorgeous card one of the soldiers sent to me, thanking me for thinking of him.. He designed and colored it. i really felt like i made a difference......
hope this helps you some. You are doing a wonderful job Joyce. Rember that our soldiers are fighting a horrid war and they are far from anything they love. they are young people who are lonely and frightened and need our personal support. Thanks..

Ms.Carol ,thanks for your input.What I want to do is each class have some one or a family that really needs help pick some one that they chose to give to.If there is a family that is truely having difficulty granting a wish to a sick child because the funds are not there.Or they might have a sick child that really wants something that they can not afford.These are the kinds of things I am wanting to know about.Example : there is a child who really wants to go to disney world and the parents just can't afford to take them.That's the kind of thing I want to do.Maybe a child wants a new bike because he/she has never had one .Thats the kind of thing I would like the blast from the past to give at the next race.Please your suggestions are welcomed.We are working on the 2ND.annual now .The place and the date will be announced on Friday.So please help us find the cause.Thanks,Joyce
