  • Gov Cup Entries

That list on the website is downright depressing. I like the ones that are signed up, but man - 7 confirmed entries and maybe another 8 unconfirmed. I know you can have a great show with that, but I really had high hopes. By the time Ricky Brooks gets done with tech - they might have 9 cars that can run!

Somebody tell me there is a secret list of entries that for unknown reasons is being kept hidden...

Please keep in mind we have NEVER done Pre-Entries before for the Governor's Cup...

I know the list is not that great right now... We are receiving more Daily and I will do my best to keep it updated...

I'm hoping the whole Pre-Entry thing will work because that is where I get a lot of information for the Program, but remember that a lot of these guys aren't used to pre-entering for races here...

On a lighter note... we received our first Pre-Entry this morning for the 44th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing - February 5-13th... Expect those lists to start appearing on the website in the coming weeks.

Most places that have "Pre-entry" offer a discount off of the regular entry fee. Last minutes entries pay a higher rate.

Some places even have a provision that if a car is NOT pre-entered, they will be racing for a percentage of the purse paid for the position they finished.

The idea is to take a little less $$$, in exchange for the ability to sell tickets to fans that get pumped up about the racers that have "commited" to coming. Nothing pisses me off more than the attitude that "you'll just have to be here to see who shows up!"

If there in NO incentive for Pre-registering, why would anyone bother? Why send in money early, if it costs the same for a "day-of" entry?
