  • AJ Almendinger Arrested.

From the Orlando Sentinel's Fifth Turn Blog Site...
    http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_nascar_fanblog/

For the second time in just barely over a week, a NASCAR driver is in trouble with the law where alcohol has been involved.

NASCAR driver of the #44 car for RPM, A.J. Allmendinger, was arrested for drunk driving, Mooresville police say. Allmendinger was pulled over around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. According to the police, Allmendinger blew a .08, which is the legal limit in North Carolina.

"I made an error in judgment last night for which I take full responsibility," Allmendinger said in a statement released by RPM. RPM officials said Allmendinger will be in the car this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway

Allmendinger was released and has a court date set for Dec. 18.

Last week, NASCAR driver and team owner, Michael Waltrip was involved in an accident with a motorcycle while trying to do a U-Turn. Police suspecting alcohol, conducted a field sobriety test, which Waltrip passed with a .06.

Well Well Well.... Mikey should take lessons from this young man... if you screw up... take it like a man and own up to it (don't leave the scene of the accident and run home or spend time denying it).

A quick "Hey..I screwed up, I'm sorry, yak yak yak" and then move on.

Mistakes/errors in judgment are all examples of what makes us humans...when one of my staff makes a mistake they say.....yea yea yea...we know what you are going to say.... "That Makes Us Human".
Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:

the problem for Mikey with the whole roll over thing, is that he probably was well over the legal limit.

by going home and not making himself available for testing by the police for several hours, he was able to process enough alcohol that the police couldn't collar him for DUI.

AJ Allmendinger, driver for the #44 team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, has been placed on probation until Dec. 31, 2009. Allmendinger has violated Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) of the 2009 NASCAR rule book. (NASCAR PR)(10-29-2009)
Isn't it ironic that he's placed on probation and Michael wasn't. I know Michael wasn't found guilty. Then another driver is suspended and his career ended because he supposedly failed a drug test. It's a good thing their last name isn't France. TIC with sarcasm.

I think section 12-1 is the only one they have. how is what he did detrimental to stock car racing? It's more like Nascrap thinks it hurts them.

Newsflash.........did anyone see the stands at Martinsville or worst yet, Charlotte? They better get a crackerjack marketing team together for next year or they are in BIG trouble.

                I Have A Gut I-dear

Everything is "buy one get one free" in this economy.
Maybe Nascrap better consider that at these larger tracks with all the empty seats.
From what I saw at the last few races, that would maybe have filled the stands.

Maybe some of our track owners might consider that too.
