  • Florida All Star Series???

Why hasn't anything been posted about this new series that is already in place (from what I was told by several credible people)?

I'd like to tell what I know, but there must be a reason that the (very well-known) people in charge haven't sent out some type of release yet.

Put it this way... I think Asphalt Late Model racing will take a giant leap forward next year.

C'mon FAS... let us know the whole scoop!

I think we all look back fondly to the days of the Florida Pro series, The All Pro, the old traveling Sunbelt, etc. It was cool to see the gathering of the clan every 3-4 weeks, and they put on some darn good events.

As usual, Florida is in disarray. Six tracks run the SLM/LM cars, and it seems like few teams are making the tow to run anywhere but home. Hopefully a series can be crafted that does not divide the running cars in Florida between more events, but instead multiplies the number of racers by making it affordable to new teams. This has not been done consistently in this state, however recent successes in blending LM rules gives me some hope that instead of attracting the "20 best and richest", we may get 40 of the most interesting and competitive teams.

Wishing best of luck to the FAS.....whatever it is going to be.

      Fla.All STARS

Fla. All Stars series will have a big impact on late model racing in fla.even if you dont run with the series, all tracks involved are , supposably going to a common set of rules. This is good for all the tracks and competitors, when the series comes to town you can race and not change the cars.this means more cars at your local track.Im glad to see somebody try to get the tracks to work things out ,[dates and rules] good luck to the F.A.S>series.

I don't want to steal their thunder but...

I was given a release and can tell you that a website is being put together at Floridaallstars.org and will be up soon. Since it was announced to the crowd at NSS I will pass this much on, Orlando and CMP each get one race, and Auburndale, CCMP, Citrus, Desoto, and NSS each get two under their proposed schedule for 2010.
I was also told that they have done a lot of work to equal the cars out using weight instead of rev limiters.
FAST (Florida All-Stars Tour) has a rookie program which will honor the top rookie each race.
All in all I think we will see some really good races next year from this. I am marking my calendar as soon as the dates are set in stone.

I hope thhat there is enoughmoney behind the series so it is not ONE and DONE. This reads like an answer to the pavement problem of no cars due to rules being out of sync.
Just hope that some dummy does not start ANOTHER deal to try and screw up what is in the works.
          Hope it works.

I think it is great if they can do this. Years ago when I interviewed Super Late Model drivers, most of them had one dream, to race in the Florida Pro Series, it was that big. But sadly, it went by the wayside when the Sunbelt Super Late Model Series came out but it was THE series for a long time.

If you can put together a series that will race at every asphalt track in the state and not leave any out, that would be great. If everyone can and will work together for this, that would be one accomplishment in Florida asphalt racing. A huge step for them.

There are alot of good cars out there for sure and they do need a place to race and a schedule that would give them the chance to race at any of the tracks. I am all for it and look forward to more news on the new series.
