It's free and Chevy's are about the only engines I've ever worked on. Also, I've got lots of Camaro parts lying around! We'll spend our $500 on front springs, shocks, and engine parts. One of my partners has an auto repair shop so we're gonna have plenty of spare parts and only have to pay for what we use! Unused parts will be returned when we come back home! Also have an enclosed trailer and motor home to use.

If anyone out there is a good, CLEAN driver and is not an obnoxious ass(we have one already) that will be hard to "live" with for a few days, pm or email me and we'll see if we have an opening. Let me know what you can bring to the table. Having six drivers will cut down costs alot so that's what we're shooting for.
Just a heads up, the judges look for how much the car is worth, not how much you payed for it (nothing in your case). In a circle track article, they used a honda accord they bought for like 400$ but when the judges saw the motor (which in it self was more than 500$) they docked them a huge penalty. Because it was worth more than they payed.

      You ain't seen this car!

The car is a piece of crap as it sits right now. Our biggest problem is coming up with a theme to GET INTO the race. You have to apply and unique cars have the upper hand. Mustangs, Camaros, Beemers, are a "dime a dozen" it sounds like and are among the hardest to get in. Since my team will be mostly from around Gainesville, I was thinking maybe Gainesville Green Racing and have the car completely(EVERYTHING) bright green....maybe even have the whole top, trunk and hood covered with clumps of weeds???Nah, too heavy! If anyone else has a funny idea, let me know.

talked to Chris Festa at PBIR today. he verifies that they intend to use the entire standard road course, including the 6/10 mi straight. i asked about chicanes on that, he said that they might but when they put chicanes in they usually wind up spending more time fixing the chicane than racing.

talked to Jay Lamm ( official title: Chief Perpetrator ) as well. he says he doesn't have a problem with the Electra's weight but he said "I don't think you'll have much fun, but that's your problem". how little does he know.

we would need to note on the race application that he was spoken too and he gave a verbal waiver.

My offer is still good brother. What a blast it would be to see the Electra turning left and right....and do it very competitively!
