I used to work with a British guy who would get pissed any time someone would ask what Australia was like or called him an Australian. I was just pushing your buttons.

I get called South African more than Australian, but because I don't have a classic BBC-style London accent I just tend to confuse people who can't quite place me. Hey ho, it's all good fun! Let's throw another shrimp on the barbie!

Ron McCreary is one of my alltime favorite drivers to watch. That man can wheel a car and come from the rear to the front with style and grace. He is a joy to watch. Trying to talk him and Todd both into getting a dirt enduro car for next week at Volusia. Sorry his car blew up or whatever it did but he is one of my alltime favorites especially in enduros.

Now where is my five bucks Ron???

Love ya, miss you and Todd both.

I got a big kick out of watching McCreary come through the field, while only driving with ONE HAND. He had his left hand sticking out the window the whole time... I swear it had a lit cigarette in it too!

What's with Russell? Plowed through Brandon Johnson, both get sent to the back, and the track puts Russell AHEAD of Johnson???

I really liked the formula they used to equalize out the different types of engines. For most of the race, the top 3 positions were held by Crates, Limited and Super Late engines.... yet the order was constantly changing. I didn't see a distinct advantage or disadvantage with one motor over another. I don't believe it will be as tight at NSS, but OSW is the perfect size track for this formula.

Also... why hasn't anyone mentioned the new Touring series announced last night?

Overall, a good night at OSW. I had a blast seeing so many friends out there:

Kim & Chris Brown (who got electrocuted earlier in the night, and still feeling the effects after the races)
          Mark Keeler & g/f Laura
          AB195
          Michael Seay
          Tim Walters
          Derf (Fred)
Willie Burkhalter & friends Brad & Dave
          NODOS03 (Linda)
          New England Greg
          Scottie Ponder

and if I missed anyone, i apologize...!

That's interesting. Being such a novice and not knowing much about the technical differences between the different LMs I was wondering if the handicapping was working. The race split into three distinct groups - the 9 or 10 leaders, the 3 battling in the middle and the rest off the pace at the back - but if they represented all the different types of engines up at the front then they were doing something right with the handicaps. Good race though, and if the new series they announced gives 20 to 25 cars to each race AND tight racing like last night then it can only be a good thing.

I thought I spotted you last night, F118, but didn't want to embarrass my self if it wasn't you! Hopefully someone will point me out to you, or you to me sometime soon so I can say hello.

And Ron McCreary's ride at the end was an absolute barnstormer of a way to finish - the car giving up like that only added to the show!

Anyone got the full results from the SLM feature? I don't see them on the OSW website, unless I'm missing something.

              Thanks.

but the thrills in the race came from the legendary green 4Q of Ron McReary. Starting right at the back he carved his way through the field and shot into the lead about halfway through

people keep telling me that the full frame cars can't compete against the newer, smaller stuff. i keep trying to point out that they just aren't doing it right.

nobody ever pays any attention to me.

Hopefully I can get away and make it to New Smyrna tonight: it depends how busy we are.
actually our illustrious Boneman got grounded and he just didn't want to admit it... LOL....
