  • Orlando Friday night

Anybody comin' to Speed World Friday night for the Marion Edwards race? I *might* be over there, depending on the money situation after paying bills. Would like to meet some of y'all on the grandstand side (Dad ain't runnin' their SLM this week).

    Just a coupla quick ?'s:

    1) What all's runnin' besides the SLM/LMs? I haven't looked on Orlando's Web site yet.

    2) Will AutoZone's "2 for 1" coupons from last week still be good, since y'all got rained out? And...will AutoZone still have the coupons? I passed one on East 50 pretty close to the track tonight, but didn't stop in.

    3) If the coupons aren't gonna work, what's the grandstand admission (adults) gonna run?

    Thanks!

We'll be there, down at the end of the main grandstand heading into turn 1. Will hopefully be heading to NSS on Saturday too, and keeping our fingers crossed it's warmer than it was last Saturday night...

          I'll be there

I am the other photographer (hint: not tall and skinny like Jim Jones )who will be shooting the SLM/LM race for a few magazines. If I get close enough to the fence give me a shout so I can say hi. I'll even try and post a few on here if I hear who your favorites are...

Well...LOL...due to paying the bills this week, won't gonna make it over there tonight. We brought the car out for the first time this year on Wednesday night for practice. Unloaded, went out, and she was *loose*; Scott spun out on his second lap out. We also had a starter wire/cable that broke, and had a tough time getting that put back together. Put some tires on it, and when Scott went back out, after a coupla laps, we were told by an official that we had a bad fuel leak (fuel was spraying out the RR somewheres). Then, we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. So instead of trying to tear the car apart at the track and find the leak, Dad decided it was best to just load 'er up. Then, after we got it on the trailer, the LR tire went flat. So first night out wasn't very good. Talked to Scott today, and he said that the fuel cell cover bolts were too long and weren't compressing the gasket, and fuel was "runnin' out like a waterfall".

When I asked Scott, my brother, if they were gonna run tonight a coupla weeks back, he said there was too much to change on the car to make it legal *I guess* for this combined race - rev chips, electronic boxes, etc. - that they didn't have. They're gonna try and get out there on November 6 (or whatever that Friday is). I might get out there then.
