Are you building a new car, revamping the old car, switching classes??? I have talked to a few drivers who are selling their cars and switching to dirt next year. But what are your plans for the 2010 season???

Jane... you've got a scoop right there. You ought to get permission from those drivers to announce that they are switching to dirt.
This is the kind of stuff that's missing down here. Up North, the off-season is FULL of news about new cars being built, drivers moving up in divisions, new owner/driver combinations, and racetrack renovations & plans for the upcoming season.
Most of what we get here is after-the-fact reporting.
The drivers you speak of, are the stories we racefans would love to hear.
LET US KNOW!!!

More of the same nonsense for me. I'm not building a float for the Christmas parade this year, but instead I'm refitting an electric racecar. I'm sure I freshen up at least one engine, and do some work on both mini stocks. Otherwise, its a camping trip and a New Year's Eve party coming up for us.

Jerry,
I will try and get the info on the guys switching to dirt. Jared Allison has bought a dirt modified for next year although I am sure he will still race asphalt too but I know he is coming to Volusia. Also Randy Blakeslee, a mini stock driver at Orlando, is selling his asphalt mini stock and getting a dirt car but not sure what class yet. But you are right, I have got alot of leg work to do and it will be fun. I know Brent Tyler was also going to switch to dirt but I think he has decided to build a new Sportsman instead for asphalt and race at different tracks next year. But now, I need to go to work and talk to alot of the guys and will do that.
Hopefully I am going to Ocala on Friday and will try and talk to some of the guys there. Hoping to see Mike Bresnahan and Rich Pratt there and talk to them. I know Charlie Macnichol bought a asphalt truck and did race it a few times but will have to talk to him about his plans for 2010 but Cody Blair sold his dirt modified back to Charlie. But I do have my footwork cut out for me now.
Hopefully see you this weekend.
Jane

I am gonna try to finish my wifes barn, finish my trailer (insulate, ceiling, lighting and A/c) revamp my current car and possibly start on a new dirt car? Finish building my competition AR-15 for the 600 yard Snow Bird in Malabar the first of the year and maybe just sit on my ass and enjoy as many football and basketball games as possible since the fish ain't biting.

I'm not sure I've seen it mentioned on any web sites but Rich Pratt has been running a dirt sprint car some this year. I'm sure he'll be running the late model this weekend. Just wonder how he likes the sprint. It must be a completely different feel and a new challenge. I hope to see Mike Bresnahan this weekend also. Mike hasn't been running much this year. He did win the enduro at Citrus last week.
I agree with Jerry. The racing publications I'm familiar with, always have news on drivers plans, changes, schedules, rumors and rivalries. Of course a lot of that is gathered from press releases but a lot is also gathered by roaming the pits or going to the shops. I really do miss that here. Jane, you're doing great and you're really on the right track. Keep it up.My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

Thanks and I am going to give it a great try for sure. I saw that Rich had raced a sprint so I will definitely find him Friday night and talk to him. I really, really want my new dirt website to be the place you want to go for Florida dirt track news and I will do my best to give it to you.
Hey Edm, what kind of dirt car are you thinking about and where do you plan to race. Email me at racingjls@aol.com and give me the scoop please. I would love to include you in this.
See ya Friday Winger.

Try and find a part-time job
So I can be ready for some of the races at GIS in Jan., Volusia, East Bay (never been) and NFS in Feb.
If anyone hears about a job where they watch you sleep, eat, or something like that, let me know I can handle it.
