I was sitting with Frasson118 and AB195 last night at GIS and he let slip that today was his birthday so Happy Birthday Jerry. He told me his age but I'm not going to tell it but if I figured right he was born in '62.

Happy Birthday Jerry and I envy you and Rog, you got to go to Golden Isles. How was it, who won, and how many cars were there??

Besides that, happy birthday to a great guy. Did someone get you a beer hat for last night like the one you had that year at Volusia when we celebrated your birthday in drive-in parking. Then after the races went into the pits to check out the drivers. That was a great day, hope today is just as great for you. And maybe we will get a chance one day to have another great day like that again, I do miss those days.

Didn't start doin' A/C work till 1975, after the Army. My dad was doin' it in '62 though. Were the dogs about 6'4 and blue eyes, or look more like your dad??

Track Chasing/Birthday Boy

Road Trip--
Anyone ever had one those back in college days? Heck yes, you did, and that is what happened this weekend.
Golden Isles Speedway in Georgia was where it was at!
Neat little 4/10th mile red-clay oval in the cold spell that crept down from above.
StrBean was there, and nice to chit-chat with him and his eager Grandson.
This Raceway is sooo cool, bright red clay, not a speck of dust, and a huge fild of cars.

Sure was. I only gave AB195 5 minutes to decide, and 30 minutes departure time. He put off everything else, loaded up the truck and headed North. Nothing like a spontaneous road trip... no planning, no reservations, and not even directions (that one was a mistake... now I will NEVER forget that GIS is on Rt. .82) Thanks to STGBEAN54 also for the weather update, and just the nudge I needed to make this run. At 4:00, it was barely a thought... at 5:00, it was in motion!!!

Actually we were only about an hour away Saturday night. I was at my hunting camp in Alma which is about 22 miles north of Waycross. I was thinking about getting over to GIS one Saturday night after hunting this year......oh well.....anyways, Happy Birthday you old fart. It makes me smile to know you are older than me.

I would hate to be better looking, be able to drink more beer AND be older than you.
