    To Hernando....

    that was a beautiful story and i did cry.... alot. I started another thread because i dont want to be part of the STFU club... the STFU club is made up of about 5 people who think they have the right to insult people because they disagree with them... You can write what you want, when you want, about whatever you please. this is a message board for and about things that interest the racing family. Most of whats written on here is heresay, copied from another place or BS! Maybe this story just interested you... well then you had the right to share it and i am glad you did.
    dont pay attention to anyone who attacks you verbally on here. just completely ignore. thats what they hate...
    thank you for sharing a heart warming story about a dog and a soldier who gave up his life for us to be able to share things like this.
    trust me when i tell you... there are many many more people who read this board and appreciate hearing nice things about life in general..... only a few are hateful and mean...

    your case, as a member of the radio show, is a special protected instance.

    giving him the idea that he can do anything he wants, with impunity, is not very helpful. several people actually have done things dumb and obnoxious enough to get themselves banned from the board.

    Hernando, look up the users "brokebackmike45" and "ovalracer44" to get an idea of what can get you hit with the ban stick.

    the basic idea is, try not to be an @$$. it helps to have a sense of humor.

      What part of the statement below don't you understand. Jack created this board ti give US, the racing family, a forum to express our views on all things not only racing. I have been living racing all my life but I do talk about other things at times. LIke Ted said Lighten up. Your going to run new people off. Another thing, name calling has no place here.         i suppose that i should also point out that i had nothing to do with banning either of the above posters. i had no mod authority at the time that they ran themselves off of the Karnac island.

        nor do i have any intention of infracting or banning anyone who has an actual online argument with me. you know, being as i would have an interest in that dog fight and would not be an unbiased moderator.

        simply moving a thread to the forum where it belongs is not in the least punitive.

        Another thing, name calling has no place here.

        a - once again, this is the wrong thread
        b - in the single instance that i actually "called Hernando a name" i was responding in kind to the name he had already called me. that would be ... why my response was a copy/paste/edit of his sentence.
        c - my response was clearly a joke, where he was serious
        d - if i really was the dick you're trying to paint me as, i would have simply infracted or banned him. i have done neither, nor have i closed or deleted his thread.
        e - seriously? name calling has no place here? name calling ( in a joking way ) is probably a quarter of the Karnac posting traffic. name calling may have gotten brokebackmike and ovalracer thrown off ( you'd have to talk to the mod responsible for that to know why it really happened ) but they did plenty of it for months before the hammer came down.

        Carol gets called plenty of names ( and she's been known to call people things herself ) and nobody on either side has ever been hauled up short that i know of. maybe Osmosis?

        you want to put a halt to all "name calling", you're way more of a control freak than i ever will be.

          Tood I don't want a war of words here. I respect you and your posts. I will say name calling in jest is a part of Karnac. But i'd also say among friends. I wasn't only talking to you, Hernando also. I've been doing this racing thing a long time and I love it, I'll probably meet my maker at a race track somewhere. Hopfully when I am 102! All I was saying was to lighten up a little. The guy was sincere in posting the Reggie post and you kinda jumped on him. Maybe a better way would be to PM him and not embarrass him. It really doesn't matter who wrote it, it is a touching story. I sometime copy a good story and put it on here or other boards where I frequent. Lets start on another note and say maybe it was a misunderstanding. He was serious and you were joking? lets go racing and have some fun. Bob...

            Hey Hernando....inflection and attitude is such a hard thing to convey when typing responses on a message board. What may seem smartassed to some, others can blow right by it and not be offended in the least. Not every comment is meant to be a pair of thrown-down gauntlets.

            That said, it IS a racing board that is made up of fans, crew members, drivers, owners, promoters, hippies, journalists, announcers, doctors, lawyers, clueless old women, teenage wunderkids, angry mommies, bubbleheaded girlfriends and plenty more. All with a different level of understanding and enthusiasm for the sport of auto racing. And a poster has to know what his/her level of comprehension and desire to interact is before they put up an opinion on a certain subject or thread. Some folks don't have that option installed in their personal hard drive. But most folks do.

            Contrary to an unpopular belief, no one has tried to run anyone off. Other than the last line on the page for forum rules, I've never read where anyone suggested anyone should leave the board. In fact, you pretty much need the people that prove themselves to be redundant idiots to stick around just to keep the board churning during the down time from rainouts and off seasons.

            So you posted an un-verified, mass email that made you misty. You weren't the first. You surely won't be the last. Tell the board how you're involved with racing or jump into a hopping thread. Use you're real name or don't. It doesn't matter. Some people need the validation of posting their real name. Others like the anonymity of a screen name. It's all good. Just remember these three things:

            It is the internet.
            Knowledge is both good and bad.
            Some folks will stab you in the back when given the chance.

            A lot like real life. Except the internet part.


            Welcome to the circus.

                  Carol, not true

                  the day that Obama won the Nobel Peace Award I wrote the following and it was removed. When is stockcar racing not stockcar racing, when NASCAR is running it, When is winning the Nobel Peace Award not winning it, when Obama wins it. So, if what you say is true, did why was it remove quickly.
