Shout out for Richard Ferry

Looks like a great weekend for a real nice guy. Richard Ferry usually has just about the worst luck I've ever seen in a racer. He always seems to be the victim of a freak broken part, or in the middle of someone elses mistakes that take him out of the running. Among them, broken fuel cell straps that dropped the tank too close to the ground, and another time he dropped a drive-shaft, not once but TWICE in the same program!

This weekend, he wound up with 1 win (VSP), and a 4th (Ocala). Glad to see a turnaround for this real likeable guy, from a long-time racing family. His dad, Dickie Ferry, really tore up the competition and grabbed a ton of wins in his own day.

I've only met these two a couple of times, but I remember walking away thinking "these guys are pretty damn cool".

Great to see a nice guy finish first!

I am pretty sure it was Richard Ferry who came with a brand new race car when I first started working at Volusia and saw it torn up that night. I remember Joe saying that it was new and that was his first time there this year so yes, I have seen his bad luck also. But Saturday night he ran a good race and if you can outrun Johnny Collins and Ivedent Lloyd, you are saying alot. Congrats to Richard for a very nice race and for not having a torn up car.
