A Prayer For Doodewamp And Family

This is the very worst day of my life. In the early hours of the morning, my 29 year old daughter, Donna Deanne (Dee Dee) Mills, was shot & killed by a drive by shooter as she slept in her bed. This was a beautiful young woman, who was never a problem at all. She was a loan closer at Vystar Credit Union & a student in college. She also had started her own business, Photography by Donna, which was doing very well. Now she is dead , thanks to some little BASTARD. Everyone is telling me, she is in heaven. But I want my baby back. I still can't beleive this. Tomorrow is her younger sister Sarah's birthday, those 2 were always together, Sarah is devastated. The 22nd is her older sister Tena's birthday. She is also devastated. I myself am just at a loss. How could this happen. I have lived through some bad times, but nothing like this.

criminal ways.
Roger and Lynelle... my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. Please know you have numerous friends who will pray for you. Your daughter is in a better place, even tho it seems far too early, so we pray for you. We pray that you will have courage and strength to get thru a very difficult time.

My heart goes out to the whole Mills family. Losing a loved one is always very hard, but when something completely senseless like this happens, it makes us all realize that our time here is limited. Make the best of every day, and make sure that the people you love KNOW it. Sometimes I'm guilty of not saying it enough either, but we should all get on the phone and call someone that we haven't told in a while, just how important they are to us.

I went through something similar with a close friend, and even all these years later (17), I still can't accept the senseless way he was taken from us. I can't imagine the pain you'll have to bear. In times like these, you'll find how many people love and care about the Mills family. Add the Binner family to the list.

Don't be afraid to lean on friends... that's what we are here for!

Woman found dead after gunfire reports

A woman in a Westside Jacksonville apartment was found fatally shot Saturday during a check into complaints about gunfire hitting cars, police said.
People in the area reported gunfire about 3:15 a.m., but an officer sent to check didn't find anything going on, said Sgt. Rick Hike of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide unit.

He said a tenant in the The Preserve at Cedar River apartments called police again about 11 a.m. after he discovered his car had been shot.

That time, the officer sent to the apartments noticed more damage and began checking on tenants. After getting no answer at the door of a woman whom neighbors said should be home, the officer entered the apartment and found her dead, Hike said.

The woman's name wasn't released Saturday. It was the 143rd homicide reported in Jacksonville this year .

Investigators used a metal detector to look for evidence along the street. Hike said police were checking an area about 50 yards long for bullets and other evidence.

I am so sorry that this happened to your family. My heart goes out to you and your wife and to her sisters who obviously loved her dearly as sisters do. Today's world is just plain sick and it seems no one is safe anymore not even in their own homes where we should always be safe. My quiet little neighborhood had gunfire a few weeks ago and the sheriff came by and warned us all to stay in our houses because a madman was going around shotting at houses. Luckily they were able to catch him before he did kill someone but you think you are safe, and you are not.

If there is anything I can do for you or your daughters please let me know. I never had a sister but only one brother and I would die if someone killed him because they went around shooting a gun for fun or whatever reason.

Roger and Lynell, my heart breaks for your lose. My mother passed away in October of '06 and my wife passed away in May of '07. This was and is verry hard to handle, but with the help of God, family, and friends, I manage to get better all the time. Roger , I don't belive I have ever met you, but I have enjoyed your posts on both boards very much! So let me say "thank you" because you have helped me get better. I really can't think of anything to say that will make a difference, so let it suffice to say that I'm sorry this had to happen to your family. As others have already pointed out, it's just senseless violence committed with zero regard for anyone or anything else. I pray the culprets are caught and properly dealt with to the fullest extent of the law. It won't bring your child back, but it will at least give her some justice. Roger, I am so sorry for your loss. We have never met, but I feel like I know you so well from your posts. I serve a God that can heal all wounds. At this time of your need he can and will bring you thru it all. It is hard to understand why things like this happen. Our society today is such that the thugs of this world have no respect of life.
