12:52 p.m. — ARCA officials will open the track back up and is encouraging all drivers to take their cars out there to help dry it. Because the rain lasted just five minutes, the track was not completely soaked.

12:55 p.m. — Jeremy Petty was the first car out on the damp track. He flew off into turn 1 at a high speed and slid right up to the outside wall. He almost destroyed his car. Back to the garage he goes. The track should open in five minutes.

1:02 p.m. — Upon further review, ARCA has canceled the rest of practice. Qualifying should still start at 2:30 p.m.

    ummmmm ... duh?

question: how old is Jeremy Petty? 10?

follow up: ARCA doesn't think they have any drivers at all who are qualified to dry off a track? seriously?

Best part about the Jeremy Petty ordeal, as I was overhearing some ARCA officials on the radio.

"Someone tell Jeremy Petty he's not Richard Petty."

Great stuff. Just met Grant Enfinger. Hell of a story, which will be forthcoming at the link below. Thanks for reading.
