This was a post put on the CCMP message board by a new Fan that had never been there and was impressed by the track and ASA Drivers, I wanted to share for any of the ASa guys that may not go to that board often. Sounds like a big thank you needs to go out to both you and the CCMP staff for helping create a new fan to our sport of racing.

My wife and I decided to take our 3 yr. old grandson to his first stock car race this past Sat. night. We could not put into words the excellant time we all had but I will try.
We arrived about six o'clock and purchased our tickets. The woman in the ticket booth was very nice and helpful as were the ticket takers. We started by sitting by the start finish line as the ASA cars were qualifying. This was a bad idea as the cars were scaring my grandson so I had to go to Plan B. Since I didn't have a Plan B I decided the hill would be the best since the cars would be the quietest there. Luckily we had chairs in our truck and the ticket taker was very understanding when I asked to return to my truck as he stamped my hand.
We set up next to what turned out to be the families of the #93 ASA car. This is where the experience started getting better. These people didn't know us from Adam but were so nice answering questions and the crew chiefs wife gave us ear plugs for our grandson so now we have a car to cheer for. The racing begins and we are never in our seats. The announcer did a great job all night and we would enjoy the text messages he would pass along.
Then came something I never expected and added to the experience. The ASA and open wheel mods were brought out on the track for the fans to come out and meet the drivers. This by far was the best thing the track could do for the fans. I grabbed my camera and my grandson and we were off to the track. We stopped probably three or four times to drop money in drivers helmets for a good cause and I felt that was the least I could do. I have to give a shout out to #59 Dustin Dunn. We had been walking around and came up to the #59 car.I asked Dustin if I could get a picture of he and my grandson and he was quick to accomodate. As he went to kneel down next to my grandson (Joey) Joey turned and gave him a hug which I think took him by a little surprise. Well I got the picture right after the hug and now have two 8x10's to remember this night one for me and one for Joey.
Well the ASA race started and we were pulling for two cars now #93 and #59. Well Brandon (#93) finished second and Dustin came in sixth after a great race with only a few cautions. By now Joey is getting tired after a few hundred trips up and down the hill and a few rolling down so we had to leave before the open wheel race.
In closing this extra long post (sorry) I just can't say how much fun we had and how nice everyone employees, drivers and fans were you should all be proud of the first class experience that was had by us first timers and will not be our last. I have lived in SWFL for over 33 years and can't believe this was in my own backyard.Well I am spreading the word here in Ft. Myers and will have alot more friends with me next time. Thanks again and sorry for the long post. Joe D.
