Sandy has taken a turn for the worse. She went in last Wednesday for a relatively routine operation, but wound up with major complications from internal bleeding. After being transferred from one hospital to another for further proceedures to stop the bleeding, she was sent back to the first hospital. During the transportation, she had what was called "respiratory distress" and was unable to breathe. A very panicked EMT was able to keep her going until arrival at the hospital, where they got things more under control.

As of today, she appears to be breathing somewhat normally (although completely exhausted), and they think the internal bleeding has either slowed or possibly stopped.

She is going through the roughest time of her life, which is already fragile to begin with. Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers. She needs all the support she can get right now.

Thank You all for being my friends...!!!!

          Jerry
I have never met you although i have seen you at CCMP once and didnt get the opportunity to say hello.

To all the tracks out there and racers and fans that CANNOT make it.............why not get EVERY track to do this? Every track set up the big red bus and the other procedure the cheek swab so everyone everywhere can help............come on track owners .....lets ALL help

          Can this be done Jerry?
and if it cant....i will take that saturday off work (which is my birthday) and i WILL be there to donate blood and to be tested.

Jerry, i have Type A RH Positive blood. I will get retested tomorrow at the doctors. If my blood type would help. I most certainly would help. Let me know. As well our thought & prayers are with Sandy and your family. We will be praying for her.

First of all... THANK YOU everyone for your concerns and the self-less acts of kindness you have shown.

Secondly, after recovering from her latest issues, Sandy is in pretty good health right now and in great spirits. She is home again and resuming a mostly-normal life. She still has some troubles, but nothing like last month was.

She has seen a new group of Doctors, who think that a new, experimental medication may work for her. They have had "great success' with this new stuff, and if it all works out, she may greatly prolong, or possibly even eliminate the need for the marrow transplant. Needless to say, we are all hoping and praying that this medication will work. Not to say the marrow search is un-needed, but the urgency may not be what it once was.

Unfortunately, the Blood Mobile(s) that are required to be at the Marrow testing sites are all unavailable. After explaining that the Governors Cup BBQ was a one-day, one-chance deal, they tried to get other groups to reschedule... and were unsuccessful. Therefore, the BBQ (as originally planned) will not be what I had hoped it would be. We will still be out there, partying our day away, but I will be unable to bring the Mambo-sized grill, and the ability to cook for & feed everyone. Check the other post for more info:

There still will be another Marrow drive at a later date, but will not be hosted at the track, but rather something more central to Seminole, Orange and Lake Counties. I will post more on that later, if anyone could possibly come donate at that time.

Once again, the entire Binner & Lupo Families want to Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!

See you at the Cup race!
