  • OSW comes back to life

Man, I had a fun night at Speedworld. The car count was decent, and the pits were so full of racers and fans, it seems like I never shut up all night. It was their best night so far in 2009.

Robert Hart addressed the drivers meeting last night. He doesn't often do this, but I'm glad he did. Mr. Hart wanted to clear up a few points in person. First, Columbia is going to open in 2010 under the FASCAR sanction once again. Who knows who will be at the helm, but I am sure we can speculate on that one all winter. Second, he wanted end the rumors about Crash A Rama. He made clear that the Thanksgiving weekend edition will go on as scheduled, although it will now be put on by Robert and his staff.

It was the worst case scenario for KARNAC's "SS29". He took a hard T-bone shot in the drivers door of a small car with no door bars. Tim was pretty sore, but escaped serious injury. Prediction: we'll see a rule change regarding cages for 2010 Strictly Stocks.

To make matters worse, Tim came to IHOP to eat with a group of us, and let it slip that it mainly hurt he laughs. Soooo...that was our goal for the next hour.

I got a kick out of Scott Reeves in the truck race. He was really hooked up and passed a bunch of cars. In fact, he was about a foot from changing lanes and taking the lead, but instead he slowly slipped back on the outside. I guess he finished third, but it was a heck of a race.

Prediction: we'll see a rule change regarding cages for 2010 Strictly Stocks.

how long have i been talking about this now? two years? three?

even if you only made cages a requirement for NSS and Columbia it would be a huge improvement.

and Lefthander sells a universal cage for smaller cars that is only $225 + shipping.

just for the raw steel pipe, i think that's a pretty good price. and i think the only thing necessary to make that SCCA legal would be a couple of down bars off the back of the cage.

if you can afford a trailer and tow vehicle, you should be able to afford the cage.

Tim was pretty sore, but escaped serious injury.

when the rocker/floor pan starts getting curled into the car and the seat gets broken, you know this was almost very serious.

Soooo...that was our goal for the next hour.

fortunately, Tim has no sense of humor.

Glad to hear that, cracked ribs suck for sure. From Bonemans post I agree that the stock classes need a door bar MIN in the cars. The impact in the drivers die on a track is the SAME as an intersection and you know how bad they turnout.
Who is the one who writes the rules for those cars, the tracks? There was a similar impact up here in S.C. and the door bars MOVED but the driver was fine.

So Bob and Jim don't get mad, I was asked to take off all the posts about Tim and your's were included in it. Sorry but did not want you to think that you did anything bad, you didn't. Was just asked to remove that all.

That thing Is bent in like four spots... Fixing that would be a waste of time, find a probe roller and start over

                  What...me worry?

                  No problems here, Jane....
I mean, it's not like it's the first time one of my posts has been deleted.

I've gotten fairly used to it, actually.

Thanks - it was not you or what you said. I was just asked to remove the personal posts on Tim and did so. Thanks for understanding.

check unibody welds all over it. i know my white car would never have been structurally sound after a shot like that, but it was a northern salt car.

like William says, i'd try to find a Probe or MX-6 with a blown motor. you could take practically everything off of this car and use it for spare parts.
