Sad News for the DAARA

DAARA member and one-half of their husband & wife Sprint Car team, Jay Yahnke passed away this weekend... He and his wife Sue were fixtures at the DAARA events around the State... Jay was a great guy and always fun to be around... His passing certainly will leave a huge void in the organization..

As Dave knows, I worked alot with DAARA when we had our Saturday shows at Orlando. Once a month the guys and gals came and put on a great show for us. I would have to chase them down always to give them their trophys since that is all they ever got when they raced. My heart is sad now and I am so sorry for this loss. Jay and Sue were a big part of DAARA and I am so, so sorry that we have now lost Jay. My heart, my prayers and my love are with Sue.

I finely had a chance to meet Sue and Jay for the first time at NSS. I real understand how much they both did for racing and DAARA with their promotion and travel all over the country.
Another driver takes the final Checkered Flag.
