    Support Mike & Angie

This is a great deal for everyone. Mike & Angie are the best track owners and promoters I have ever met. I like both tracks (Ocala & Volusia) but Mike & Angie will get my dollars.

So, if he is really looking out for the fans, he wouldnt make them choose between "special" events, right? As a fan, I would like to attend both. VSP and Ocala need to work this piddley $hit out. How about before the season they agree on a few nights where they will go silent (or alternate classes etc.) and allow the other to do these types of things without getting all pissy?

Forget cooperation. Ocala Speedway always runs on Friday night. They shouldn't have to change when a Saturday track wants to run a 2-day show, especially one that was announced this month.

I hope they have big-time success with fans and cars.

Volusia's event has been on thier scheldule since around the end of july,It is just now being advertised and promoted on the racing message boards this month just to clarify that.As mostly everyone knows world racing group owns VSP and it's not always upto the track GM to set certain dates of "special" events are held or have the final say about it,there is higher managers Tonya has to co-operate with and answer to.....for an event this big there is no way they could do it in one day,it would be an all nighter....besides speedweeks sundays are out of the question for racing with world racing group.I do agree the late models should have had thier qualifying on saturday,Since this is what the ruckus is mainly about, but then again...Tonya does not always have the final say, there is last chance qualifying for them on saturday for those that will be at ocala & the ones that did'nt make it in the friday night heats.
Ocala is a great track and Mike & Angie do a awsome job of operating it....We really like going there and always see great racing action....I think both events will do well at both tracks. It is great to know Tonya & Mike has talked this hurdle out and will continue to work together to provide some awsome racing action to the fans & drivers at both tracks .Hope everyone enjoys the racing action at which ever track you choose to be at on the 9th,I am sure both tracks will do great & be successful

Nice post Denise. As the writer for Volusia, I will be there Thursday for practice (so everyone can know who all was at practice) and then Friday and Saturday (basically living at the track). Fans, no matter how they look at it, will have 2 nights of some great dirt racing. Just be thankful that you do and that Ocala and Volusia, no matter what people say or think, do work together for racing. Glad that you also see that.

On the other hand, our points end this Saturday. Good luck to your guys and I will see you there. Always sad when the points season end but does not mean racing is over either. But I will look for you Saturday. Still hope to start profiling our dirt guys so asphalt people can learn them as well especially the ones who have raced both asphalt and dirt and there are quite a few. I think people would be interested in knowing why they have switched to dirt and what they feel the difference is between racing asphalt and dirt. But I will get this started yet.

Anyway, it is Friday and I am alittle under the weather but I think it is only my hayfever which acts up every now and then. But going to be a GREAT weekend at both asphalt and dirt tracks.

            See ya Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

besides speedweeks sundays are out of the question for racing with world racing group.
Denise, I'm not sure what you mean by this statement. WRG's premier track at Weedsport is a Sunday afternoon/evening track for it's regular schedule.

Also, I have to believe that Tonya has more input in the schedule than you make out. That being said, I hope both tracks do well.

Winger I guess that track has good turn outs for sunday racing,That track is up north where the racing seasons are shorter and racing is done at several tracks 4 or 5 days out of the week.I'm speaking of the tracks down here in these parts.Sunday racing has never done good down here in the deep south and WRG knows that from past experiences,I dont know what you are talking about me making out anything, because I certainly did'nt .
With that being said I know both tracks will do well for these two events..Again everyone have fun and enjoy all the great racing action at whice ever track you choose to be at
