  • Number of cars in feature races

I enjoyed another good night of racing last night at Ocala. Really cool to see Buzzie win and the driver interview after the race was hilarious. Unfortunately, getting to that point wasn't always much fun to watch, especially the first 10 laps. As soon as I counted 25 cars coming out for the feature, I knew exactly what would happen. In the early part of the race, like clockwork, someone spun or wrecked almost every other lap. Once the number of cars had been cut to 18 or so, there was a good race. I've seen this happen over and over again. Why not start the fastest 18 cars for the feature instead of letting wrecks pare down the field to get to this number? I'm not saying that the guys who were eliminated from the feature are bad drivers or that they did anything wrong. It's just too many cars in too small an area. There was a "last chance B Main", but at least from what I could see, everyone in the B Main transferred to the A Main anyway.

Buzzie didn't win. His victory lasted about five minutes because the tech man DQed him. It was unfortunate, but yet another example of how m no one gets a free pass at Ocala. If its wrong, its wrong. Fair, firm, and consistent. That's how we do it.

Oh man, I didn't know that. Really too bad, but everyone has to be treated equally. I guess now I understand why his car was so much faster than everyone else's in the feature. What was his sin?

Actually... from the Ocala Speedway rule book .... "The age difference between the car and the driver can exceed no more that 80 years"....

what WAS the reason, BJ? I said when we were leaving, good luck with tech, because that car was in a different class than the competition...

also, mike and angie, you gotta get a four-wheel-drive push truck for nights like that. just an old jeep or 4x4 pickup would have kept the poor wrecker drivers from having to strap and pull every car (and each other) out of the infield.

The way I understood it (because I never asked specifically what the infraction might have been) that the car was DQed "officially" for ride height, but there might have been other issues. Again, no one told me anything specific. What I got was secondhand info.

Yeah, I've never heard of that one also on dirt, but I'm a little behind on the times.

The first two things checked in tech. is ride height and weight. Those are the easiest and quickest. After that they go to carb. From there it can be anything.
There is a minimum ride height in almost all classes.

Yep,,, and you can take that to the bank... cause Ocala Jim has had to use pillows to reach that "Minimum" ride height for years... word has it, he is now up to three pillows.

Is there anyone out there that actually likes that guy (other than that old lady from the south)?
Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:

Your sister likes me.......A LOT TOO. But I'm not into that 'kinky' stuff you taught her. Mangos and sour creme are not really a marital aid...

No, they all like him...(don't know why).

I'm just busting his chops (before he bust mine)... all in jest.
Actually we GUYs call each other all kinds of cruel and hurtful crap and don't take anything serious... others may get their panties all in a wad.. but that's on them...a bunch of us get real down and dirty on this site with each other, but when we meet at a race its all BUDDY - BUDDY (although none of us would dare turn our back to any of those low lifes). Especially EDM, OcalaJim, MR Fenton, OJ, Roundtracker and WINGERWHATEVER among a few others.

SOOOOooooo whatever you do Mr. ModelCarMan... don't buy a used car from any of these bums. (and you can trust me on that cause I am OSF)
