Got the DVD today and loved it and so did Alex. You even got me and Alex in a few shots. But there was interview that we missed - Bill Posey. You see Bill in the video behind Dickie, Leory and Jimmy but he was the last owner of Eau Gallie Speedway and was a racer. Maybe next time we need to get him for sure, hopefully he can come. I was very happy to see him at Columbia since he now lives in Washington most of the time.

Also, maybe next time, add the race results at the end so everyone can see who drove what car. And I will be sure to add them also to the story and not just in the story but at the end also. But I loved your DVD and it was a GREAT time, just really, really hot.

I do believe that cooler weather will be better and I have already started working on more names and a few addresses to make sure we get everyone invited and they know we want them. People like Bobby Sears, Pedie Allison, Ron Dicandio's dad (he was the car owner for some of the Eau Gallie Speedway cars), etc. I am going to see if Lou White has some info for me since she did the Eau Gallie reunion and there were alot of old timers there for that. But we will make it BIGGER and BIGGER.

But thank you so much for sending me the DVD. I appreciate it more than you know and will treasure it always. You are a good guy and glad you are my friend.

You Know Jane I thought about scrolling the names of all the entrants in each race. I should have done it. I'll do it next time. I wanted to interview Bill Posey and I think I ask Don about it and I don't remember if he answered or not. At any rate we didn't get him. I ask someone if he had raced and they said no. I didn't realize he was an track owner at one time. I would have made a more concerted effort to get an interview. I think maybe the next time we could get more in if we were more organized. Although I enjoyed the casual exchange especilly Jimmy cope, Dick Anderson and Leroy Porter. I can well remember those three on the track together many times at Desoto before Leroys accident. Also Cope, Jim Fenton, And Kenny Faircloth. That was good. Dons interviews were good too. I loved doing it. It was special to be around all those guys agin. The likes of Gorden Lee and Spooky Whitle I was a snotty nose kid when they raced. Thanks Bob...

Yea, Bill raced Late Models when I first met him and then he switched to Classic cars for awhile there. His dad was his biggest fan and always with Bill and when he died, Bill kindof lost interest in racing. But he was the last owner of Eau Gallie Speedway and still owns his realty company that sells race tracks. The last Late Model race Bill was in was at Columbia and a Florida Pro race. It was on a Sunday afternoon and Bill had an older Late Model so his car stood out. But if I remember right, he did finish the race and that was his last Late Model race. I remember seeing him also at Orlando and I think New Smyrna a few times with his Late Model.

He was hurt badly one year at Orlando with the Classic in the Winter Nationals. He didn't race again for awhile but he did come back. But then he got so busy with government, he quit. But he still loves to talk racing and the good old days and he tries his best to be at the Governor's Cup each year. He is the one who got my dad to be the Grand Marshall the year after the Governor was there. The Governor and Bill asked him to please do it and even though he was going thru prostate cancer then, he did.
