Sure, I'd love to do it again. We had a great time! The first one was on New Year's Day (I think), and then a larger one on March 1.

We had ARCA drivers and SLM standouts racing against Chuck and Moe from Crash A Rama; message board types racing racing track managers. Fans, drunks, goof-balls and kids. Where else can you find a great group like that?

I suggest we wait until after the holidays, right? Maybe in January....before Speedweeks get started up?

          Hiway 17-92 in Maitland.

It is a place called Little 500 Gokart Track. It is located less than a mile north of Maitland Blvd. on Hiway 17-92. They had the first Fast Track around here. Its alot of fun.

I ran into the track manager at the PRI show on Friday. I know I've been going there for 27 years, and he has been there the whole time, so I just had to ask.... 34 YEARS this guys has been at the Little 500.
Like I said to him... "who says you can't make a career with Go-Karts?" He sure did.
The place is a BLAST. It takes some serious skills and talent to do well there. It looks easy, but as soon as you get out there, you realize throttle control, and quick reactions have a LOT to do with your results. You don't just stomp the throttle and hope that you were lucky enough to get the best Kart. Even though each one handles different than all the rest, every single Kart is capable of winning. How quickly you can adapt, look far ahead of your front bumper, and figure out your strengths vs. their weaknesses, the better you will do. But in 10 minutes, you'll be in a different kart anyways, and have to re-learn all over again.
When you think you have it all figured out, some clown leans out of HIS Kart and takes your picture of you both going into turn 3! Check Bonemans Photo Gallery to see what (and who) I mean!

Don't forget the bump and run. It is like you are driving a house of cards; one little touch and it all falls apart. It doesn't take much to put someone sideways in the third lane, although I have never actually done this move myself.

You know what makes me crazy there? THe way some people take it so seriously! I mean I am just out there blowing off some steam. I totally deserve to win, but there is always someone else out there to mess up my plans and interfere with my destiny. Oh yes, I could name names.

Fortunately, there are also plenty of field fillers who show up: AB195, Frasson118, Dan "the spin out king", Pinto 10. These guys are great because no matter how fast a few other drivers are, I can always count on these guys to pretty much move over and just give up. I didn't actually see the starter giving these guys the blue move-over flag, but somehow they know to get out of the way. Maybe they have radios and spotters.

Oh yes, we are gonna have a fun night!

Hmmm... I think there may be a "yo momma's so big" joke here somewhere...

You know I am kidding, your mom is cool and she is a heck of a lot better at Little 500 than you are.

Listen, you guys have it all wrong. I don't expect anyone to move over, but you seem to do it to yourselves. I guess there is just some intimidation going on.
