I know that it is unusual to think of a stock car track as an inspring small business in a community but that's exactly what Charlotte County Motorsports Park is !!! The owner Bobby Diehl feels strongly that we are all in this life together. The track presents great stock car racing every Saturday Night, but more importantly reaches out to support the community. As president of Time-out Respite Care (an agency for children and adults with special needs), I personally have been taking children and adults with disabilities to the track for the last 2 years. We are always welcome. Bobby has never charged us or the families of the children to get in. If a child has a special night the staff goes out of their way to make the night memorable by letting them ride in the parade lap, drop the green flag or announcing their birthday. Once more, I know that we are not the only organization that they help. I have seen them provide fund raising, special gift certificates, and ticket packages to causes such as Breast Cancer Awareness, Camp Boggy Creek, Boy Scouts, Shriner's Hospitals, and the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities. The track is located in Punta Gorda, Florida which has just battled back from being battered from Hurricane Charlie. Between that and the economy, I know that CCMP has struggled but that doesn't stop this business from helping others. I have gone to Bobby many times with charity events that I have been in charge of and the first thing Bobby says is " How can i help and how many tickets do you need?" No matter how big or how small the event, Bobby all ways gives from the HEART! In my eyes and in the eyes of the special needs kids and adults, CCMP is all ready a " Shining Light" to us. The Charlotte County Motorsports Park and Bobby Diehl encapsulates what the Shine A Light program is all about. It is a business that gives a great show, cherishes its customers, and takes care of the community around it.
Nominated by: numberonefan20@yahoo.com This would not be possible without all those who support CCMP.
Thanks
Bobby Diehl

. She as many others do such a "GREAT" job in their own way to make someone's quality of life just a little better. We will always have our hearts and front gates open to those who give in the spirit of giving. The looks on the faces of these people make it worth much more than money. Remember we are not judged by what you take with you, but rather in what you a left behind. If you know of a person or group who gives as "Miss T" does. Please call 813-817-7223 or the office 941-575-7223. We would like to extend and "Honor" them for the gift of giving.
