  • RE:Blast from the past

I would like to say thank you to all of you who came to the event .Lots who said they would be there were not there.Buzzie Reutimann got there and I was glad to see him after his long weekend.TO all you guys and girls who came I thank you and I hope that the next event will be bigger and better.
I have actually already started working on it and I promise to have it when it isn't so hot out.Maybe in April seems to be just the right temp. And I will do things just a bit different this time so keep watching for up dates on the second annual Blast from the past. For those of you wanting to order the videos Bob has posted his address and the cost ,so be sure to order yourselves one and have a great day.Joyce

Joyce... I have done a couple of these myself, and there is nothing you can do about the no-shows. The first year, I was a little disappointed at some of the guys who did not make it.... UNTIL, I looked at all the people who came that I didn't expect. Lost some, but gained some.

A deal like this has to be looked upon as "I did the best I could do, next year will be better, and Thank You all for coming!"

I think you did a great job, you learned a few things (August isn't the best time), don't positively count on ANYONE, and enjoy what was accomplished instead of dwelling on what didn't meet your own expectations. My sister called this "Bride Syndrome". She pointed out that at every wedding, the bride is the only one who has a vision of how perfect things should be. When it doesn't work out, the Bride is disappointed. BUT, the guests never knew how it was supposed to be, they only saw what it turned out to be. If they were happy, then things were a big success. After about 9 beers, I realized she was absolutely right. I felt better, turned my attentions towards the next one, and finally had a chance to reflect on all the good that came from it.

The next thing I realized, was that I wasn't going to TOUCH this project for another 6 months... far too much stress to take for a full year!

I think you did a great job... something to be very proud of. Next year will surely be bigger, smoother, and a hell of a lot cooler!

Hey Ronny, How bad is your car hurt? Yeah it was a blast. I really enjoyed seeing some of the people I grew up around and some I had only heard of. I am all for doing it agin. I hope to have the video done tonight or tomorrow.
I have all the interviews done and some of the racing. I wish I knew how to do u-tube, I'd put part of an interview or 2 up. See you soon. Bob...

Sorry I was one of the no-shows but things do happen and I did send you a note at least. As Frasson118 will tell you If I could have I would have. Hope you have a better turnout for you next venture into the world of the REUNION ZONE.
I grew up in the northeast and we ALWAYS went to Old Timers Day at Yankee Stadium this is what these reunions can become a place where dads take there sons and grandsons to see the cars and meet the people he saw growing up.
You have the idea and will make it better every time you do it.

Yeah Ron the $$$$$ is why I do what I do instead of racing. I love it as much as I did racing as long as I keep my head above water. The video is looking good. I got done last night except for some Graphics I need to get on. I gt carried away and looked at the clock and it was 2:15am. Time flies when your having fun. Bob...
