Just got off the phone with Rob the trophy guy, he did the Cup for Racer Al. This could only happen and a movie and said years from now at a family Thankgiving dinner they will be able to laugh about it. Rob knows I am writing this. Rob's dad past away Fri. afternoon. Sunday they, he, sister and brother went to make arangements at Abbey Affordable in Largo FL. They were happy with the price, staff, service and still are. The f/d called Morton Plant hosp. in Clearwater and said that they would be doing the service. Rob and family members were sitting there they do that the f/d did it correctly. At 915a.m. this morning a person named Charlie from Sylan Abbey F/H called Rob and said that they had gotten a fax from Morton Plant to pick up the body, they did, when would Rob like to come sign the papers. Rob told Charlie that sorry that this is all wrong, Charlie says that Rob has to call his F/H and have them come pick up the body. Why Rob, he did not make the mistake. Rob calls this Charlie back says he wants to ID the body and stop the chain of mistakes, Charlie says the the body isn't really there it is at Memorial Park F.H on 49th street and he would call him back Rob tells his wife that he isn't going to wait for a call back, he is just going to go there and check and make sure it is his dad. He is 3 blocks from the place and his wife calls and says that they won't show him the body. He goes inside anyhow a Debbie says that cannot show him the body, they do not do ID there not even for customers. Rob told her that he would wait for his F/H to come and he will ID it right in ther parking lot. About 1-1/2 hours and he gets to ID his DAD and the HOT parking lot. What would have happen if Charlie would have called Rob's 86 year old mother? What help would Charlie and Debbie have given her. On there vans they have this written "Caring for people making a differance" Rob said that when he left and went and left a message at the desk Memorial Park thanking them for all the help and they needed to add this to the van signs "only if you pay us.
