  • Nss/osw Split Schedule

I put this on another post but wasn't sure where it should go so I decided to give it it's own.....it doesn't have great detail but you'll get the jist

I have been a little under the weather the last couple of days so since I wasn't doing anything I thought I'd do a little cypherin......I got a 2010 and 2011 calendar and split the year up and low and behold I got it to come out even.

I have NSS starting racing on Sat April 3, 2010. They will have 23 weeks of racing that would end Labor Day weekend September 4, 2010. I figure this is good for NSS because they don't get rained out much because of the sea breeze and they can hit the hotels and condos at the beaches for tourists. They also still have the Clyde Hart on during the Fourth week. THey could start having THursday night practices the last 3 weeks of March. THey could also have a "No Points" week the first week.

I then have OSW starting racing on SATURDAY September 11, 2010 (great day to let ALL first responders in free). Even OJ!! THis is good for Rick and OSW because he does a great job of hitting the schools in central florida. They would race, amazingly, 23 weeks until March 25, 2011. Now they would have to take a few weeks off here and there for the GOV CUP WKND, CHristmas and New Years, and then again for Speedweeks. I thought that they could race on Saturday Afternoons from Thanksgiving through SPeedweeks. College football is basically over the first week of December and it does get a little nippy for us Floridians when the sun goes down. OSW could still have it's JULY CRASH A RAMA and it's Speedweeks for the 600 group.

Now I understand that it would be hard to have to pay bills on the properties while they sat unused but if I am not mistaken, this is about how they have to do it up north because of the winter. We just have to do it because of the rain. Even if they can fix the weepers, which I hope they do, I would be willing to bet they would of had at least half the number of rainouts if not more because of it actually raining on Friday evenings in east Orlando. Even the threat of rain has to keep a great number of racers and spectators alike from making the trip IN FRIDAY AFTERNOON TRAFFIC to OSW. I Live basically in Downtown Orlando and I have had it take me longer to get to OSW on a Friday evening than to get to NSS on Saturday.

Well just my two cents, tell me what you think......

yeah, this should probably be it's own thread or an addition to Boneman's suggestions thread for when OSW fires back up.
