To all my friends on Facebook... although its been alot of fun and ive been contacted by friends i havent heard from for ages, i am getting several trojan viruses and hundreds of spyware.. staples and my computer store both told me that most of the virus problems are coming from FACEBOOK users.
because of this i have deactivated my account. Friends are always welcomed to call me at 941-629-7451 or email me at carolwicks@comcast.net

i never did anything but chat with a couple friends and look at pictures.. now im really stuck. going to cost about $100 to get rid of the trojans. i was having trouble with Kaspersky..store recommended PANDA.... but it really is NOT good protection. then one told me to get norton 360...then another said it wasnt any good. so now i am really confused and frustrated.. any helpful hints are more than welcome. i am not very computer literate so i doubt i can clean it up myself...thank you

DAGNABIT!!!! I just started using that thing and was wondering WHY all of a sudden I am bombarded with all of those Virus and Trojan alerts *GASP*

I know NOTHING about facebook so I do not look up anything and it has really...I guess...messed this computer up! EEEEGADS!

sorry rusty... its a bird getting rid of trojans too. ive NEVER had a virus before i went to facebook....good luck.. what a bday present huh? lol

I can't understand why you guys are so suseptable to problems, when I use Facebook and MySpace daily and NEVER have gotten the first thing from it! And I use the applications too! Maybe my protection is better or something?

I am guessing you are using IE, try using FireFox like myself. I have never had any issues with either Myspace and I just joined Facebook a few months ago and no problems there either.

yep

i use firefox...i went to staples and to puter place...both said they are getting mobbed by people with viruses and most accuse facebook.... its costing me more than the fun is worth. facebook allows way too many things to get in... and all i did was chat to about 3 ppl and look at family pics. i just got norton 360... will try that and wont go back on facebook or the other one...my advice is for all of you to do complete full pc scan....

I did two days ago and found nothing. So I am not sure why you are getting them and others like myself are not. Sad that evil geeks have to ruin the fun for everyone else. lol

Follow his instructions and you'll have no problem, you won't.

However, every night before you go to sleep, run:
=ADWARE
=SPYBOT
=AVG (latest version)

And shut that computer off, all the way down-- I mean it, all the way down--unplug it, pull the battery--every night. (that's good thinking for late night lightning strikes)

As you sleep, these good ol' boys will clean your 'puter up nice and clean, you betcha'.

Fire it up the next morning, battery and all, after your beauty rest, and all will be fine----it will.

Norton and McAffee are wastes of money. I met one of the McAffee's at a convention years back and all I could think of was "This guy is a slime. I bet he WRITES viruses just to build his business."

There are better FREE firewalls out there. I recommend AVG and Sunbelt-Kerio. Just google them and you will be able to download a trial version.

Firefox does stop most of the hostile trojan stuff from Facebook. I did some checking on that. The new IE 8.0 is supposed to stop it too, but one important thing to remember:

The guys that write trojans and viruses (the mind pictures nasty evil people, with greasy hair, thick glasses and huge pimples - or is that the line for pit passes at OSW?) write their software to target Microsoft stuff. Not because they hate Microsoft but because it is the biggest target, and most of the software is in the public domain.

One of my sources has told me that Macintosh now has it's own problems though, as some bored Russian trojan writers are now targeting the Mac.

So far, Firefox seems pretty safe. So far. Subject to change without notice, your mileage may vary!

I told OSF and Ocala76 not to be sending you that stuff.

Here I gave you credit for knowing "Who Not to Mess With", but you went ahead and messed with OCALA and myself..... NOT SMART!

You have been begging OCALA and myself for about a year to send you the worst of the worst of "OUR SPECIAL EMAILS" (the nastier the better), but you kept saying not to let anyone know that you are really into that smack stuff.

WELL HERE GOES: Winger is into all that smack stuff... the dirtier the better...he loves nasty.....he loves bottom.... he loves doubles/triples.....he loves it all.... BUT - OCALA and I are not going to send him any of that stuff. WE (OCALA and myself) have our regulars that "Appreciate" what we do for them... they are our TRUE FOLLOWERS.....we have our own "Cult" out there and we don't have any vacant openings for new clients at this time.

WE (OCALA and myself) don't care how much WINGER whines and cries... he can't get smuck from us....he will need to stay with his homeless friends for all his needs...he's been with them for years and gets their smuck after they are done with it.
