I'd like to give some hard working young kid (most of these kids couldn't tell you a damn thing about a racecar, and daddys checkbook takes care of everything).

Right now, I don't think there's a driver having a better year than Bubba Pollard. Young guy, very limited budget, doesn't crash because they can't afford to, and still wins races in Super Lates & Crates, not to mention his own car plus the one owned by Ronnie Sanders. Earlier this year, he was leading 4 seperate point chases at the same time!

This is a guy who could not only WIN for me, but he wouldn't tear the car to shreads either.

If this isn't trash then I really don't know what is. I will give you this, KB can drive but he can also wreck. I really don't see him selling much at the trailers either.

6/7/09 11:53 PM "The main difference between him and DE senior is that he isn't as big a dick on the track as DE was"
      and

6/8/09 6:28 PM "Sr was a great man off the track but if you deny that he was an absolute dickhead on the track ... Well I guess I saw different races than you.

He didn't earn the nickname "The Intimidator" by treating people nice"

In reality he did treat people nice, I can post some charity figures if you wish. He wasn't some spoiled rich kid on the race track with an attitude. He was hungry trying to make a living doing what he loved.

As far as drivers go, dirt would be Ivendent Lloyd, asphalt would be Clayton Rogers. I may be a little impartial but I have seen Clay do some amazing things in a racecar.

I don't think he is a close to Dale Sr has he is to Tim Richmond because both of them can and could drive the wheels off of anything.

What's the deal with Clay Rogers? I used to follow the Procup series pretty closely and he did really well there. I saw Clay in a few truck races a few years where he did pretty well, but I haven't seen anything lately. I thought his truck performances would have been enough to get noticed.

I haven't talked to him in a few years so I really don't know. I don't think they can get the sponsors or get in with the big money teams. They guy can flat drive the wheels off anything you put him in.

That's a real shame. I thought that he and Shane Huffman had bright futures after doing so well in the Hooter's Procup series. I think that Shane had a stint driving Junior's Busch car, but I haven't seen him after that. I keep waiting for one of the Procup alumni to really make it at the next level. Seems like it should have been a really good developmental series.

Vickers and Logano both came from it, both won there in their teens.Trevor Baine also, is in Nationwide now. Rogers back winning in Procup series this year.

I had forgotten about Vickers. I think that Joey Logano only raced a few times in Procup. Kyle Busch may have run a few as well. There are definitely some short-time Procup alumni in trucks and Busch, but I was thinking more of the series regulars like Clay Rogers, Shane Huffman and others who won or contended for championships in the series. I think that Bobby Gill may have run a few races in trucks and / or Busch before deciding to make Procup his home.

I really miss this series. A Procup race in Lakeland in 95 was my first trip to a race track and got me hooked. They used to have decent coverage on Speed, but it really went downhill to the point where it might as well not even be shown (when is it on, like 4:30 a.m. on Tuesdays when the moon is half full?).

Vickers won 1 when he was 16,Logano won 2 USAR races and finished 5 th in southern points in 2006. Former USAR drivers Regan Smith,Bennie Gordon and Shelby Howard compete in NASCAR. Gill raced trucks and I think local driver Scott Walters did too years ago.
