Remember watching Bud's old shows either just before or just after Championship Wrestling from Florida with Gordon Solie on Channel 9 Saturday afternoons... Bud's show was sponsored by Bardahl... After the TV shows were over, it was get in the car and head for Eau Gallie or Golden Gate... Those were the days!!

Here are some shots I took at the IMCA Winternationals in '74 and '75...

        1) Earl Wagner
        2) Chuck Amati
        3) Kenny Weld
        4) Rick Ferkel
        5) Jan Opperman

I love that Opperman shot. I don't think I've ever seen a Sprint car with both JW Hunt & Al Hamilton backing it. Two of the biggest spenders Sprint Car racing has ever seen, and they were both throwing their cash at Opperman!

The video link is definitely the State Fairgrounds. Not sure if Plant Field was another name for the Fairgrounds, but that's definitely Tampa. If I remember correctly, one of those earlier tracks - either Plant or Phillips - backstretch ran alongside the Hillsborough River, and Al Keller or one of the Reutimanns went through the fence and ended up in the river.

**Edit: Looking at the Plant Field postcard that Dave posted in the other thread, it's definitely NOT the Fairgrounds. So there were actually THREE half-mile dirt tracks in Tampa at one point: Plant Field, Phillips Field, and the Fairgrounds.
