    Cold weekend

    Went to a men's conference 60 miles north of Indianappolis.We go there Friday and there was 3 inches of snow on the ground and it was 33degrees. Yesterday morning it was 29. This morning it was 26. It started raining yesterday afternoon and it rained on and off all night. This morning the snow was almost washed away and it continued to rain today. Its supposed to be 24 tonight. That rain will freeze I'd bet. Nobody's racing up there! It was pretty, but I sure am glad to be home. Bob.......

      Hey Jim, Yes it was lafayette. The hotel we stayed in was right down the street from Perdue. Thats a strong football town. Do you have family up there? We had 2 guys with us that had never seen snow. They were like a couple of kids. Every time we went to the church, they were throwing snow balls. It was a quick weekend. I flew up Friday morning and come back last night. A whirlwind! Bob.........

        Nope, no family there. However, I did spend time there with some racing friends from Wisconsin for 4 - 5 years in a row in the mid-90's during the weekend each year of the Indy 500 when I used to have season tickets.

        Believe it or not, I learned from my Yankee friends that we could rent dorm rooms there at Purdue University for practically nothing during that week while the students were on break. Need not I tell you that accomodations in Indianapolis for that week would break the bank, if you could find something that is.

        Of course, that kind of savings left us with the ability to direct our finances towards much more important things for the weekend...

              Man where did you find that girl friend Jim? Yes thats a pretty area up there.
              I wanted to go and see the Indy speedway but we didn't have time. We were droped off at the University hotel Friday and picked up Sunday morning.
              They came and got us early, they were expecting an Ice storm. Can that still be done at Perdue? The school was just down the road about 1/4 mile or so.
              I have never been able to see a Indy race, man I'd love to. What you doin Sat. Jim? I'm going to CCMP as far as I know. Itwill be the last show till the eve of destruction. The 29th I think. Now that should be a hoot. Let me know. My buddy Jim Kelly is going to East Bay I think. Don't they have another Crate LM show? His son drives a OWM. Bob.....

                Got a full weekend of Christmas parties to attend this weekend Bob. (such a social schedule, huh?)

                I know I keep saying it but don't give up on me man! I'll hook up with you sooner or later so you can show me what's cooking down there.

                    Thanks Jim. How did you know it was my B'day? Christmas partys are fun. Since I quit work we go to maybe 2 each year. The offer to go to the races is open any time. I appreciate the company. Especially when I go to Hendry. Thats a long haul alone. I start talking to my self. But not to worry, I don't answer. YET! Next year we have 3 shows in Ga and several in North Florida. I am looking forward to that. Bob......................
